Call it luck, but we got here at 9pm on a Friday and were seated right away. Three starving girls, exhausted after a 4.5 hour bus ride from Oslo(we were delayed by a massive accident) were greeted by a very handsome waiter who was quick with our water and much needed wine. Two of us ordered the crispy duck with truffle risotto. I am not a foody. In fact, I am quite picky and I rarely like duck, but once I saw the duck came with a truffle risotto, I couldn’t care if it was fish liver they were serving the risotto with, I had to try it. All three of us agreed that the risotto was one of the best things we have ever tasted in our lives. I dreaded the moment that I would take the last bite of this delicious treat. The duck was also perfect and I swear, if I am ever on death row, I will choose this as my last meal. Our other friend ordered lamb. I also am not a fan of lamb and often think it tastes like rotten meat, but if lamb normally tasted the the way my friend’s tasted, I would eat it for every meal. After being served such a delicious dinner, we had to see what they could do with dessert. I got the chocolate cake with panna cotta ice cream and my friend got the cheesecake. Both were excellent. I was skeptical about the cheesecake because scandinavians have this thing for«no bake cheesecake» of which I think is disgusting, but this cheesecake was baked to perfection. We ordered the recommended dessert wines, but were not very impressed with either. However, one was better than the other. The one I received was waaaaaaay too sweet to be matched with a sweet chocolate cake, but this was the only complaint I had about this place. We pressed our luck and tried to come back the next day, but were met with a 90 minute wait, so we lucked out with Ottomania(?) a few minutes away. I am going back to Gothenburg next week for Easter and you can be guaranteed that I will be coming here if they are open.

I don’t know about this place. It is extremly popular and I don’t really understand the hype. I mean it is not bad at all, but I was not impressed by the menu. I had pasta it was OK. It is a bit cramped and I found the staff inattentive. As far as I understand it is first come first served. Or is it? I’ve been turned down when I’ve called them in advance. They have a decent after work(aw) bar menu on Fridays — be here at 4 pm. Naaah not for me, but I guess i will give it another try.
