Hard Rock Cafe

I went here for lunch. My burger was great and so was the service. The location is ideal on a sunny day. Price is steep for what you get however.

Ein untypisches HRC. Ein grosser Wintergarten passt eher zu anderen Restauranttypen. Der Shopbereich ist winzig und schon mit wenigen Kunden überfordert.

I’ll admit it, I look for familiar places when I travel. I am not too open about stepping out of my comfort zone, so Hard Rock is a familiar face in an otherwise unfamiliar crowd when in new cities. None of them have ever failed me the way this one has.
We only went here for drinks on a Friday night, but Hard Rock’s bartenders are supposed to know what they are doing. The bartenders at this Hard Rock looked like nerdy teenagers in high school and not one of them knew what an Appletini was. What!!! Are you serious? Okay, a Midori Sour? Nope, not that either. My friends and I had to tell these «bartenders» how to mix drinks. For a city that prides themselves in bars and food, Hard Rock sticks out like sore thumb. No wonder this place was deserted on a Friday night.
The doormen asked how old we were. We tried to hand them our IDs. «I asked how old you were, not for your ID», whined one of them. I am sure they are serving drinks to youngens here because no one else who knows better would step a foot in this place. Oh and there is a sek 60 cover charge. After throwing that money down the toilet, they also force you to check your coat for sek 20. I tried to not check and was chased by the whining doorboy who told me I would not be welcome there if I didn’t give up my coat. Seriously? The place is this lame to begin with and they still want to charge people to be there?

I’m eating at a bar/​restaurant, but I am charged to check my jacket with you. Why?
When done eating, server was MIA for 10 minutes and somewhere in the back, had to get up and ask someone to find her, if she wants me to pay for my food and drinks…

Hard Rock is Hard Rock — you know what you get.
I enjoy their burgers and their ribs! The ribs just melt in your mouth! And I love it that you can get all of your favorite American drinks here — Hurricane, Margarita, Rum Runner… you name it!
I do not like getting seating down stairs when the cool interiors are upstairs. I also do not like that even if you have dined, you still meed to pay to get in to the night club. Friday and Saturday night requires extra charging to get upstairs — so go here a week night.
Hard Rock in Gothenburg is four floors of music! And broadcasted sports. Top floor even has a cool bowling alley — virtual bowling baby!

If you go to the buffet for a second time, then you will point by a guard yelled, It’s not about food, it’s just a snack. An Afterwork where you can take only one time (!) food, is not After Work. Especially since me and my companion had not fully stacked the dishes or something like that. Anyway: A restaurant where you will be monitored by security guards? :-(The food itself is ok: altough there where only chicken wings and pasta, some raw vegetables. But the atmosphere itself is uncomfortable and unfriendly, as After-​Work-​Customer you are not allowed tot sit outside in the sun, but must sit on bad places at the edge. The staff smiles although much (it’s a very professional chain), but you are not treated very courteously. You feel that the Hard Rock Café wants to favor the local custom of the After Work: But actually the idea of giving the customer something a little cheaper annoys them. They just want a very fine customers with a lot of money. Mainly tourists. There are a lot of nicer, more open and friendly places (with younger and better locking people also ;-), like Kings Head.

Super! essen super und Bedienungen sind eig alles nett. Es kommt Amerikanisches Hart Rock Feeling und Skandinavische Freundlichkeit zusammen =)

29.12.2011 Diese Kette bedeutet für mich immer einen Pflichtbesuch, um das Andenken T-​Shirt zu kaufen. Da ich aber Stockholm schon habe, gab es hier nur den Rundblick. Eines, wie alle in der Welt.

Hard Rock Café in Götheborg habe ich vor 3 Jahren mit einigen Kollegen anlässlich eines Abendausflugs nach einem Meeting erlebt.
Ich muss sagen, dass ich schon in einigen HRC weltweit war. Meiner Meinung nach, gibt es einfach nichts besonderes dazu anzufügen.
Alle HRC sind nach dem gleichen Muster aufgebaut und auch geführt.
Es gibt eigentlich nur eines dazu anzumerken.
Entweder es gefällt einen oder nicht.

Wir waren für 3 Tage geschäftlich in Göteborg mit sehr straffem Programm. Trotzdem wollten wir am Dienstag abend nach dem offiziellen Begrüßungsessen noch einmal die Innenstadt von Göteborg kennenlernen und in einer netten Bar ein letztes Gläschen trinken. Nachdem uns sehr nette schwedische Mädels und ein Taxifahrer den Weg zur Kungsportsavenyen gezeigt haben, die ‘die’ Ausgehmeile in Göteborg ist, haben wir uns dank der kalten Temperaturen und des nassen Wetters spontan für das Hard Rock Café entschieden. Dies liegt nicht ohne Grund in Göteborg. Die Stadt ist das musikalische Zentrum in Schweden.
Wir wurden von sehr freundlichem Personal empfangen und an einen Tisch geleitet. Der Kellner war einfach super nett und ließ sich gern auf eine kleine Unterhaltung mit uns ein. 15 min bevor wir kamen, war noch eine Kölnerin dort gewesen, wie er erzählte. Es war sozusagen Deutschlandtag im Hard Rock Café Gothenburg. ;-)
Wir bestellten einen Sex on the beach, ein Bier und einen Shiraz. Letzterer wurde zusammen mit einem Glas Wasser serviert. Nachdem der Wein ein paar Minuten geatmet hatte, entfaltete er sein weiches aromatisches Bouquet und sorgte somit für vollen Genuss und auch anschließend für die nötige Bettschwere. ;-)
Der Sex on the beach war gut gemischt und lecker. 88 SEK (schwedische Kronen = ca. 8,8 EUR) wären in Deutschland für diesen Cocktail überteuert, im doch etwas teureren Schweden empfinde ich den Preis als völlig in Ordnung. Das Bier muß auch gut gewesen sein, da mein Kollege noch ein zweites bestellte. Mit 2 Bier, einem Cocktail und einem Glas Shiraz + Trinkgeld waren wir am Ende 300 SEK los (ca. 30 EUR), die sich aber wirklich gelohnt haben. Dank guter Musikauswahl, der richtigen Mischung aus Einheimsichen und Geschäftsleuten, dem sehr netten Kellner und leckeren Drinks kamen gute Gespräche auf und wir hatten einen schönen Ausklang für den doch anstrengenden Anreisetag.
