Possibly the best-value café in Lund, Coffee Break has fresh sandwiches, good coffee and helpful staff. The owner is very pleasant and engaged in the daily operations. Plus cool latte art.

Great coffee, great sandwiches, nice little tables to sit at and do your last-minute readings. For sandwiches, choose bread, ingredients, add a coffee and then be pleasantly surprised by how fucking huge this sandwich is. Also comes with a small salad. This place is also a bakery and might be a bit expensive but delciousness is worth it, dessert pastries are life.

I’ve found my new café spot in Sweden. I love, love, LOVE this place. The manager is wonderfully sweet and he seems like he would do anything for his customers. The first time I came, he saw that my friends and I were looking frazzled trying to find a seat, so he went through the small, cramped area looking for a table that would accommodate the three of us. Each cup of coffee comes with a cute bunny design. It’s delicious too. What I noticed about coffees in Sweden(maybe all of Europe too?), is that there is a thicker layer of foam. I didn’t like foam because I never saw the point of it, but now I get it. The cups of coffee in Europe are stronger and larger. The foam retains the heat more while also giving the drink more texture. The thick foam is necessary. The second time, I came for lunch with a friend. The manager was patient enough to literally read through and translate the entire menu for us. Everything sounded delicious. I got the baked potato with the seafood salad topping(skagenröra), while my friend got the baked potato with the mozzarella/pesto/sundried tomatoes topping(mozzarella & soltorkade tomater m. pesto). Both were fantastic. Who would’ve thought to put such interesting toppings on a baked potato?! I want to try them all! But besides the baked potato, you have a variety of options for your«base» layer — from ciabatta bread to a bagel or a wrap, etc. Overall, though this café is small, I would come here bright and early just to find a seat. Whether it’s to people-watch or to fika with a friend, I’d come here. Not only is the manager friendly, the food/coffee/desserts are delicious!

I always order my safe bet Chicken & bacon, whether it is baked potatoes or the pasta sallad. However, I have also branched out and tried the roastbeef with the baked potatoes and the parma ham and parmesan hot sandwich. Since it used to be one of my regular spots in Lund it is hard for me to pick a favourite dish or dessert. I would say that anything is a safe bet. I’ll be coming back for sure.

What a pleasant, no frills surprise! This place is the epitome of cozy Scandinavian. At first, I was reluctant to walk in, but the food and drink offerings look absolutely promising. I was impressed that they offered Rooibos tea, something pleasant after a long cold day in Sweden. Also, Coffee Break was the venue of my rite of passage for Fika Time! :)
