The best Thai food in Lund! I have been going there for years and I will definitely continue to do so!

Thai food is more popular than ever and there are strangely enough several places to choose from in the small uni-​town of Lund. Mae Yai is not good nor bad, it’s just SOSO.
Location-​wise Mae Yai is located in the central parts of the city but without the noise and pollution which makes it a relaxing place. The staffs are very friendly, accommodating and genuinely interested in costumer feedbacks. However implementing changes, well that is another story. Lunches are decent, affordable and most importantly flexible and that means you can pick and choose and combine among several items from the «todays menu», smörgåsbord ME any time baby! However please serve it in larger plates so that pants, shirts or table are not sharing it with me!
A la carte menu is not as intriguing as one might expect even though it seems huge. A menu must be considered somewhat limited if for instance spring roll can be order as starter as well as main but then served with rice and salad. I love the fact one is free to choose among several proteins but I say this again, and this is true sadly for many Thai places, the protein choice is less desirable if they all in the end taste the same! The heat and the balance of spices are fine at Mae Yai, it is not Swedishified bland nor is it Bangkok HOT!
I can recommend the duck in green curry sauce here, but sadly I must say the chicken which is my preferred choice of protein can be somewhat odd here. Twice I have ordered dishes containing «freezer burned chicken» and even the Thai spices can’t help you with that. In fact the main reason why Mae Yai is only getting 2 star rating is because they are somewhat sloppy with ingredients quality control and in Thai kitchens freshness is essential.
