Mello Yello

We just got off the longest train ride of our lives. We were tired, hungry and thirsty. The only reason we chose this place was because we assumed they were kid friendly due to the family that just left.
They played great old blues music. The beer was exactly what my wife and I needed. The food was excellent! My kids split an elk patty which was outrageously good. My wife got the reindeer filet… which was a bit more expensive, but in my opinion, worth it. I got the cod and crayfish dish, which was also very good. The food was all cooked to order. You could tell that it hadn’t just been microwaved, and served. It’s the sort of food and drink that makes your soul smile.
We finished it off with some of their hazelnut cheesecake. I just about slide out of my chair…
I would go back, any time… you should give it a try.

Very vibrant place. Inside and outside, good vibe everywhere. Drinks are around $ 13 (reg)-$ 15 (bigger size) but this seems to be normal price everywhere in Malmo. Cocktail is great. Highly recommended.
Food was tasty and came in good portion size. Swedish traditional cheese pie is very similar to quiche. A big basket of fries is only 35 sek (about $ 4). Parmesan bread was made of thick big toast with plenty of cheese. Good for beer.
Friendly and attentive service. Good place to hang out.

Went for drinks on a tuesday night. It was full of people and great atmosphere. The bartenders were a little slow behind the bar though, which made the queue to the bar pretty long. Otherwise a great place for a beer in the sunshine at gorgeous Lilla Torg.

I should start by saying that I’ve found most of my dining and drinking experiences in Sweden to be lackluster. The places in the square where Mello Yello is located are all crazy packed, which makes for an energetic atmosphere, but the staff are severely outnumbered and the whole place wreaks of chaos. And I was here on a Wednesday.
I would describe the food as passable. Our waiter here was actually very good, but it took forever to get seated and there didn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to their system.
You could do worse than this place.

Schön wenn man danach noch auf einem Spaziergang die Innenstadt erkunden kann!

Not bad, not exceptionnal. The place is nice, the drinks are not always as nice… The terrace is meanwhile a very very very beautiful place to be !

Sehr leckere Burger und dazu noch delikate Pommes. Der Service war top und sehr aufmerksam, die Preise für 2 Personen mit 2 Bier und 2 Burger rund 600 Kronen.

The martini was perfect, the elk carpaccio was delicious, the service was stellar and the atmosphere was cozy. Of all the options available in the small square, this would be my go to again.

Great central location. Didn’t have food but it was the perfect location for a drink. Friendly staff and they had a good selection of drinks.
I was here in October but I imagine that it’s lovely on the terrace in summer. Even in autumn they have heaters and blankets so you can keep nice and toasty.

Great location right on the Lilla Square.
Food was good. Bouillabaisse was very good in fact. Wine lost solid and many good fresh beers.
Versus other places on the square this one is good for food & drink. Good mix of ages too 25 – 50. Worth checking out.

Food was very good, typical prices for the location, high. Service was great, atmosphere both inside and outside was typical European, very friendly. Would definitely be back.

I had a very good piece of Salmon with rice and a nice glass of wine. The food was good but the portions were very small and I left hungry despite a very high bill. I did really enjoy sitting outside with the heat lamps keeping us warm in the brisk cold night. The intimate ambiance made the meal worth every bite.

Lilla Torg is a great place with many bars and restaurants. Mello Yello has a great location right on the corner. My experience here is limited to the acquisition and consumption of spirits — yes, drinking. It is really a lot of fun here. Now that the weather is nice again, the outdoor seating is expanded and the bars are outside as well. I can’t complain about the service at all — it can get a little crowded in the evenings. You have to expect a bit of a wait.
