Feel bad about the 2 stars, but based on our lunch food experience, it definitely falls in the«Meh. I’ve experienced better; and I paid way too much» category for me. The place was busy at 2pm, and it seemed like most folks were happily enjoying fancy and tasty-looking cakes and dessert, so it’s very likely we made a mistake in ordering lunch instead of cake. The lunch menu is small and simple: paninis, pies, and salads. There are maybe 4 things without chicken/ham/shrimp. I had the 119kr Greek Salad. It was 20kr more than my SO’s panini, which also came with a side salad. I know salads tend to have a high profit margin, and I’m fine with that. I’ve had lots of great, pricy salads, and I don’t mind paying more than I would have to for the ingredients. But they’re usually really tasty too. But, in this case, my more expensive meal was composed the same way as my SO’s simple side salad, with the addition of a few sticks of feta, some black olives, four cucumber slices, and a few concentrated piles of pepper shaker pepper. There was no dressing. At that price, especially compared it to the 99kr panini + side salad, I was expected something a little nicer. Okay, food was very, very disappointing. The layout is pretty cozy. It’s the«piles of very fancy couches crammed into a small space», so everyone gets a fancy couch to sit on. There’s a lot of space spread across two rooms, and it’s popular enough that most of the tables were taken when we were there. Our original plan was to also try the cake, but we were both not very impressed with our lunches, and left instead. We’re considering coming back in a while to try the cake, and maybe be able to give back a star or two.

Wonderful café right by a small river and a short walk from the main university building. I’ve been here twice already in my two days in Uppsala. They have large padded and comfortable chairs and double seater love seats. They’re super comfortable. I kind of embarrassed myself and passed out on one after finishing my lunch. Oops. For lunch, I got a cappuccino and a chicken and curry sandwich that was more like a panini. The bread was so crispy that when I sliced into it with my knife, the crumbs flew at me like sawdust. The flavors were on point though, and there was plentiful chicken bites stuffed into the sandwich. There was also some melted cheese and a single tomato slice in the center of the sandwich(random and didn’t do much for it). The dish came with a small salad of lettuce, tons of onion slices and a couple of cucumber and tomato slices and a single red bell pepper slice, topped off with an orange slice. This was all for 89SEK, which honestly isn’t too bad for Sweden. The cappuccino, on the other hand, was way too pricey for the size. 32SEK for a cup the size of my fist? I can find better cappuccinos elsewhere. The first time I came, I only got the chai tea latte. This was massive and perfect for the price. I was asked if I wanted it with spices or a tea bag. I said spices(because why would I want a tea bag if I can get the real deal with actual spices?). Out came this large empty cup with a strainer, and another with the actual tea and milk and spices and foam in it. She told me to wait five minutes before pouring it into the empty cup. I was so confused. I didn’t know the spices were already in the other cup and thought I had to put in the spices myself into the strainer. I asked the waitress about this and she kindly told me that everything was already in the larger pourer and all I needed to do was pour into the cup with the strainer to catch the loose spices. Duh. I’ve never been served a tea latte like this but I enjoyed it! The tea wasn’t as strong because the flavor came solely from the spices(I think the worker would’ve kindly adjusted the strength — more or less spices, milk, water, etc. something like that — if I had asked) and I didn’t get the foam because it also kind of got strained out with the spices as I poured. But oh well. The latte was still good(though I guess it technically wasn’t really a latte anymore). Their desserts look amazing too. They always come with a beautiful splash of color provided by the sprinkle of fruits(pomegranate seeds, grapes, kiwis, orange, etc.) on the actual dessert. All in all, the servers are sweet, the interior is fancy, and there’s a huge variety of dessert options with a good mix of actual meal entrée choices. Oh and for those whose café experience is made via the playlist, I’m not sure if they were playing Christian instrumental songs because it was Sunday, but it was randomly intermixed with medieval instrumentals and classical music too ??? I wasn’t really paying attention to the music the first time I came here(not a Sunday) so I can’t confirm what type of music they usually play.
