A very traditional coffee place in central Uppsala. There are two almost similar cafés next to each other, both named after the old Uppsala celebrity, Carl von Linné. This one is the one that comes first, when you arrive from the centrum. They also have a bew burger place, Linné Burgers, nextdoor. The interior is cosy and vintage-style, which makes this a good place to visit on a rainy autumn day as wee did. At lunchtime there were a few other people as well, and we had to sit down next to the front door(which was open). That made the experience quite hectic, while a constant flow of people were queuing to the cashier nearly through our table. So if you have a possibility, try to find a better table! Lunch costs 99kr, including a drink of choice. Lunch options are for example grilled sandwiches, soup or salads. I took a vegan salad(beans, hummus, olives, sweet pepper etc) and sparkling water, while my friend ended up with grilled salmon sandwich accompanied with a tiny side salad and cup of tea. I would say that the price was high, because the salad for example was pretty basic and small. It tasted ok, but not special. The salmon sandwich was good as well. The vitrin was full of delicious looking cakes, buns and all types of «fika», but we decided to spare our money this time. The staff was friendly and the place all in all very sympathic.

This is a local treasure. The café has a decent food menu beyond the wonderful pastries. It is good for small meetings, lunch, and fika. Most recently I ordered the vegan salad which contained artichoke hearts, capers, humus, and beans. I was satisfied, full, and relaxed at the end of my visit with a friend. I highly recommend this place if you are in town for vacation/holiday and are looking for a café.

Maybe swedish people have these type coffee places all over the country, but for me this place is soooo cozy and relaxing that I seriously do not find anything like that in London(if you know a place message me). There was a good mix of students and parents with their kids. I had biskuvi hmmm yummy yummy what a swedish sin and danish also called Viennese bread I think. I would definitely go there to have swedish pastry

We stopped here after perusing plants and artifacts at the Linnaeus museum/garden across the street. A wide selection of delicious looking pastries, coffee, and tea. We ordered an enormous«Linnaeus Bun»(a standard Swedish cardamom bun with pearl sugar) which was tasty, along with a cappuccino and tea. Plenty of outdoor seating to take advantage of a precious sunny day.
