The park, originally conceived as a cemetary and converted to its current use in 1951, is attractively laid out, with a walk path ringing the perimeter. I saw many-a jogger as I walked along this route. There are also two paths running through the center of the green space. All paths are marked with tidy-looking, wooden benches. Other than strolling, jogging or bench-sitting folk have their choice of a few things with which to occupy their time. Three separate playgrounds dot the park along with one under construction, a man-made hilly area for kids on wheels, a basketball half-court(super small) and a couple of ping pong tables. There appeared to be a rather forelorn-looking sandbox, too. Unsurprisingly, it was unoccupied. –don’t know where the, ahem, ‘previous tenants’ of Kannenfeld now reside. Perhaps some of the only clues of K’s past are the WWI Memorial honoring France’s fallen soldiers and the Psalms carved in stone found at the main park entrance. A few numbered trees stand in the park accompanied w/information regarding their origins. I spied a maple tree from Western Asia. Tidbit: Basler cop-shop directly adjacent; resident GIANT hangs about making visitors feel welcomed; small Café at main entrance. Transport: bus 30 from the HB or tram 3 direction Burgfelden Summer hours: open til 22.00 Winter hours: open til 19.00

Für kinder ist es uninteresssant, der Park ist riesig und bietet jedoch wenig abwechslung für die kleinen, und das publikum ist sehr dubios…
