Namamen Japanese Ramenbar

OK food. Cold vegetables in soup. Good service. Restaurant was rather empty for a prime time which might be a sign.

Sehr leckere ramen im klar gestalteten ambiente bei ambient– musik. Auch die bedienung ist sehr nett.
Allerdings sind die Preise einfach absolut zu hoch. In tokio habe ich ramen fuer 5 CHF gegessen (Garküchen gibts ja an jeder ecke) — hier kostet die ramensuppe mal einfach das 4fache.
Bei aller liebe: zu teuer.

Die Ramen waren leider nur Durchschnitt und dafuer VIEL zu teuer. Immerhin war der Service recht freundlich — was allerdings keinen wiederholten Besuch ausloesen wird

…weil alles doch ein bisschen teuer ist. Man bedenke, dass Ramen in Japan eher als Snack gegessen werden und auch halb so viel kosten als im Namamen.

Superfeines Ramen, allerdings nicht ganz günstig. Dafür stimmt der Background, die Ramennudeln werden eigens importiert etc.
Saisonale Specials, z.B. Ramen mit besonderen Pilzen zum Herbst.

This «Japanese restaurant» is conveniently located near the Basel exhibits halls. So it will attract loads of foreign exhibit goers looking for convenient Asian food. Convenient is exactly what it is, no more, no less!
It’s not a full Japanese restaurant, it’s more of a Westernized Japanese noodle soup house with a little bit of Western sushi (aka California rolls). The menu is pretty versatile (allows you to alternate toppings/​noodles or add more) and is moderately priced for the location (it is in Switzerland and next to the exhibit halls!).
I was with a big group and we ordered/​tried many things. The noodles were fresh, the soup base also freshly made. Those who order meat like pork or beef will find only about 3 thinly sliced pieces of meat — so don’t look for too much! You can add any topping you wish for an extra price and choose different types of noodles (Japanese ramen, udon or soba).
A plus is outdoor seating!
I would come back here if I was in Basel for an exhibit only bc this is the only Asian noodle house around here, but if this was in the city I lived in, I wouldn’t go there. The food here sort of reminds me of Wagamama (faux Japanese food), but I’d prefer Wagamama more.
