It was an easy in and out when you’re rushing to the next train. Has everything you could need, except for alcohol, which is right across the way. I sort of like the cashiers are sitting down, that’s a long day on your feet in the states. If you get produce, you need to bag it, weigh it, and sticker it with a price before going up to the register. They will be annoyed and will be thinking ‘dumb American’. You bag your own stuff as well.

This place is great for many reasons — very good roast chicken and pork at the deli counter, great fresh-baked breads, small, but good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, etc. The very best reason to come here? They are one of the very few grocery stores open late(at least for Switzerland). One of the few places you can get a quick pre-made meal or stock your pantry after 8pm. Also, they are open on Sundays! This is a huge bonus. This place has frequently been a craving saver. It’s usually a madhouse(it is located in the very busy main train station…), but the staff is always friendly and I’ve found their prices to pretty close to that of other Migros.

Absolut unverzichtbarer Laden von Basel. Öffnungszeiten und Sortiment sind tatsächlich oft lebensrettend! :-) Dafür sehr, sehr eng.

Ideally situated supermarket within Basel’s Swiss railway station that offers a wide range for those passing through Basel whose provisions are running low. The only exception is anything alcoholic — you will have to go to the Coop opposite the station for that.
