This. Is. A. Supermarket. Once I got over this supermarket being on 2 floors and having a wholly separate store(including its own security gate) within it, all was well. It’s a bit of an odd shape too. But considering its central location it is pretty good, with all the basics covered and lots more besides. There’s a decent drinks section including a wide range of beers. Quite a few of the staff can cope with me asking for help in broken French, so I appreciate them too. There’s free wifi in there too so if you need to look up anything while you’re shopping that’s easy too.

I initially went in here due to the cute name for this store. As an added bonus I was superhappy to find the long-gone-from-the-US fragrance ‘D&G’ from Dolce & Gabbana. I bought a bottle for a close friend back in the states as a surprise, and he was stoked. Yes, it does have that semi-department store feeling similar to a Sears but with some more upscale items. I don’t speak fluent French(okay, I don’t speak it at all) but I was able to get by quite well with the associates who worked there. Or, I think I did… I ended up visiting a couple more coops while staying abroad, but I enjoyed this one due to the vast selections of products(I even did some light grocery shopping here) plus their café/takeaway food area as Mindy H. pointed out below. Not sure of what the difference between coop vs. coopcity is, but I’m guessing the coopcities are specifically in largely populated areas, similar to how target has city target in more urban dwellings? Be sure to check out your neighborhood coop while visiting the country of Switzerland. You’re bound to find something–

COOP2000/Supermarche is the best COOP I have been too so far in Switzerland. This place is so large it was hard to wrap my mind around at first. It took me awhile to get used to how things are laid out, and would take a bit to find things. There is a larger selection of products here, then at my local COOP store. They have a take away food area for you to pick up some hot items at lunch time, and a small place to sit and eat. If you like COOP you definitely have to check this location out.
