I love their sandwiches and the fact that it’s fast! You get a sandwich for average CHF8 and this is a reasonable price in Geneva for a very good sandwich and almost same price as of a sandwich of McDonalds in Geneva(just the sandwich, because the whole menu in McDonalds is around CHF13). But Edwards have an excellent quality for its price. It’s good when you are really hungry and wish a good sandwich. Their«campagne» bread is delicious and I particularly love the Ham & Cheese sandwich. They warm it up and it’s crunch outside and moist with a lot of taste inside. They have 4 addresses in town and all of them you can sit and have a proper lunch. Even if it’s always full, it’s not super loud and people come and go quickly so you always have a table. They don’t take a reservation, it’s like a local fast food chain. They also close early, like 17h30 on Saturdays and 18hrs on weekdays. Closed on Sundays(like many places in Geneva).

Edward’s has four locations throughout Geneva. Their motto is «the fine art of sandwiches», but you can also come here and grab a scone or muffin for breakfast. My office has used their catering services primarily for office lunch gatherings because of the good prices, food, and service. I always thought that their food was OK, but I hadn’t yet eaten at the café until today. The café has a pretty large seating area if you wish to eat here vs. taking it away. Because of the long line, the service people are quick to get your order and pass it on. They didn’t even ask if I wanted anything else beside my sandwich. Be sure to give your full order to the people before getting to the cash register, because the lady at the cash register was not happy to add a dessert and espresso on to my sandwich. The basic lunch options are sandwiches, soup, or salad. The sandwiches are made to order, and you can have them cold or heated. Their are three different breads to chose from — bagel, toast, or their special sourdough bread shaped by hand and baked in a wood fire. The sandwich fillings while they say are fresh are pre sliced and sitting in there waiting to be chosen. The cheese is even pre sliced and wrapped in plastic. From previous experience, I like the sourdough bread, but it is always a bit too much bread and dry, as they are light on the fillings here. However, today I chose to have my sandwich heated, and the sourdough with cheese and meat was better toasted. There are a selection of tarts, and my favourite is the raspberry. The espresso was not the best. If you are eating in, you pay, and then go find a place to sit and they deliver your sandwich to you. This place is definitely OK, nothing special, but for a quick bite, it does it’s purpose. Could easily win extra points if their service was actually friendly or helpful. Tip: They now take credit card for orders over 9CHF, and was surprised that they do serve wine.
