We were very excited about going to this restaurant. A very pleasant setting and quite cute. We arrived early on Friday evening and were told that we could only sit outside as the inside was closed. I asked if there were anywhere to avoid the dozens of people chain-smoking at all the best tables — well, actually EVERY table. He didn’t seem to understand the question. I mustered up my best French and asked him if there were any place where we could sit that would be non-smoking, and his reply was«impossible». Oh well. We end up finding a nice place down the road with it’s own microbrewery which was a lot of fun. The menu looked good and its a great location, if you’re a smoker.

Best foodie restaurant that we tried in Geneve. Food during our visit to Geneve was expensive and not particularly inventive. Cottage café was the exception. It was both reasonably priced and interesting. Tapas style allowed us to try multiple great items. Avacodo dish was simple but awesome. Wait once seated is a bit long so buy a bottle of wine to keep yourself company while you wait for the waiter to come back for food order. Once ordered food came quickly.

Let’s say from a foodie point of view this isn’t the first plays I would visit in geneva but the place and the environment is just so nice! I love enjoying a glass of vine on their terrace during summer. Nice cute welcoming little cottage.

VERY nice place, VERY good, VERY nice people. Though… expensive for what you get… Meals are small… and prices are kind of high for the size of the meal! You might get out of the table either still hungry or with a light wallet. Except this, it worth one try for a not-so-hungry evening :)

Such a romantic setting — more proof to my assertion that Old Town isn’t the place to be. Cottage Café really is a little cottage. The evening that I was there, there were votive candles everywhere — indoors and outside. On a warm night, with the Lake in the background, it is hard not to warm to Geneva in this setting.

If there was an option for a ZERO I would give them that. We were in Switzerland for few days and checked-out Unilocal for few good places to eat. This one was close by and we decided to check it out. It was around 8pm when we got there and they had few sits open. After standing for 15min they gave us a sit right by the walk way. There was another sit open further up and they refused to give it to us. That was not acceptable, but we decided to try the place anyway. So we waited for a waiter to give us a menu but did not get it for the next 30 min. After my husband walked up to this lady(Korean looking woman, who seemed to be the boss and needless to say, very rude), and asked for a menu. We sat there for another 25 min and we did not get our drink order taken nor the food order. At this point we decided to leave. I don’t recommend this place to anybody who values their vacation time and money.
