This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside it is a Swiss chocolate box. The highlight of Merkur is the Laderach chocolate line, which specialises in the large slabs of chocolate that you can break into pieces and have the yummy bite size pieces of nuts and other stuff in it. However, you can also buy pre packaged chocolate of other famous Swiss chocolatiers such as Callier, Favarger, and Toblerone. The service has always been friendly in this shop, but not strong English speakers. I have often found myself here to pick up last minute gifts that I had forgotten to purchase previously as I am running to grab a train or running to the office. That makes this location ideal! Great to have some high quality chocolate easily at hand to buy. Quality chocolate of course always comes at a price, so this definitely is not a place to purchase inexpensive chocolate.
