Yum! Yum! Yum! After being tempted by little Movenpick containers in takeaways shops, I stumbled across a store. The seasonal flavor was apricot, so I turned my back on the delicious looking caramel and others to try it. The ice cream was fabulous and really tasted of fresh fruit. Its tartness was offset by my mini-meringue topping, which was also awesome. The only complaint I had was the waffle cone, which completely lacked flavor. Boo. :(would it be bad to go back for dinner?

Touristes, passez votre chemin !

This place is great! The ice cream is so thick and creamy and just has an overall great consistency. The flavors are pretty unique and executed flawlessly. I got a triple scoop cup of banana, vanilla brownie, and stracciatella — the favorite — to split with my travel partner. The scoops were generous and it was really a great experience. There are also small cartons of movenpick at various pharmacies and markets throughout the city!

Considering my Unilocal profile picture is at Movenpick, I have to give this place 5-stars, right?! Movenpick is AWESOME, and I would definitely come to this place again next time I visit Geneva! As a tourist, Geneva(and all of Switzerland) is super expensive. I was so used to getting 2 scoops of ice cream in Paris, but coming here, I felt like I needed to spare the damage and therefore only got 1 scoop at this ice cream shop. However, for Movenpick, if you do takeout, they actually give you 2 free toppings, which is super important to me when it comes to ice cream — I love the contrasting texture and the incremental flavors provided by the mix-ins. I got the Swiss chocolate with coconut ice cream flavor with hazelnut and caramelized walnut toppings. Despite my being scared of milk chocolate and preferring dark, I found the ice cream itself not too sweet, tempered partially by the coconut. The waffle cone was fantastic, very fresh tasting and excellent crispness. Especially with the candied walnuts and hazelnuts, the mix made for a fantastic combination of flavor(savory sweet) and exploding texture of crunch and silky, smooth ice cream. The creation itself also looked absolutely gorgeous — the green hazelnut provided a good contrast to the light brown + white ice cream, and the yellowish /darker brown tints of the waffle cone and caramelized walnuts made the dessert concoction a beauty to behold! They also sell Movenpick outside of the store in ice cream containers. Although it obviously won’t have the toppings, I’ve yet to try it. Wonder if it will be just as good without the additional cones and mix-ins that I like…
