What better cuisine to have in Switzerland than Italian? Enjoy pizza, pasta, and a nice Chianti with outdoor seating to watch the waves of Asian tourists snapping photos along the Main Street in Interlaken. The place is nothing special to look at, but they do an excellent margarita thin crust pizza and penne arrabiata. Be sure to ask for their hot red pepper flake olive oil… and get ready to sweat.

Nicely located in the middle of town, with plenty of outdoor seating. I had a Hawaiian pizza that was very solid. Medium thickness with lots of cheese and while slices of ham(rather than little chunks). The pizza is easily large enough for dinner. I had mine to go, so the cost was CHF17.50.

3.5 stars. There were not many things open in Interlaken when we went and so Da Rafmi was the choice be default. The other reviewers have raved about the pizza being better than Italy and that is crazy talk. I believe it is good pizza but maybe it is the cold weather outside that makes a piping hot pizza taste better than it actually is. The food is better than average no doubt but at the prices they charge you’d expect more than just better than average pizza. A pizza will run you anywhere from 18 – 30 francs(!) for a pizza that is slightly smaller than you would get at Naples, Italy. This means it could require a fork and knife but you can also eat it the American way by folding each piece up. We had the Hawaii, the Funghi, and the Onion(maybe Vegetarian) and all were decent pizzas. One thing that was really good here was there tomato soup. It’s a battle between here and C und M Café in Grindelwald as to which is the better tomato soup but I think its too close to call. Both are tremendous soups. I’d say the pizza tries to emulate a Neapolitan pizza and does an okay job but isn’t quite there. But I expected a lot worse from Switzerland regarding pizza so the fact that this place comes anywhere close is something to be commended. Still, the prices are maddening but even so it is still one of the cheaper options in Interlaken. I don’t remember service being bad but I do remember them being very brusque but I suppose that comes with moving in towards the German side of Switzerland. Not a bad choice if nothing else is open.

Literally best pizza I’ve ever had. The chef even made our pizza into a heart! Open late and extremely affordable as the pizzas are big enough to split…(but good enough to eat all yourself!)

Wow, this place definitely did not disappoint. I walked by it everyday in Interlaken and finally decided to try it on my last night. I only wish I had tried this place sooner, I would have eaten there every night! We got a pasta dish from the summer menu that had an amazing tomato cream sauce. We also had a chicken pineapple pizza that was cooked to perfection and was delicious. If you’re looking for a tasty and affordable meal in Interlaken, this is your place!

Coming back from a day hiking in the Lauterbrunnen valley, we decided Interlaken would be our dinner stop. Along the walk between the Ost and West train stations, this place caught our eye. We got the Napoli pizza(anchovies, black olives with pits, capers) and«Spaghetti a modo mio»(house special pasta — whole prawns, shrimp, tiny clams in shell, and a few other shellfish in a small amount of red sauce). Both were quite good — good anchovies, but maybe not enough; the black olives are tasty, but watch out for the pits. The pasta was refreshingly lightly sauced, and the noodles actually trumped the seafood — not overcooked as common around here. The tiramisu was absurdly heavy on the cream, but the ladyfingers were excellent; decaf coffees were far better than average(decaf espresso with a splash of hot water, less than an Americano). A nice bonus: this place serves tap water, if you ask specifically for it, and even lists it on the menu(CHF2.50 for a pitcher). After a day of drinking out of Nalgenes, we didn’t feel the need to spring for bottled water; we easily killed the pitcher.
