Service lent, peu efficace et avec des erreurs. Qualité laissant vraiment à désirer. Table coincée entre le mur et le passage du service. À fuir

Café des Avenues is one of my favorite«go to» places. It’s one of the few places I feel I can go with my children(or just my laptop) and feel welcome. Friday nights: I’ve come here quite often with friends and a group of children and they have always been very accommodating and welcoming. There’s a seating area with couches and coffee tables for the children to relax in after the dinner is over and while the adults linger over their wine… Not too long ago, there was a football table for kids and adults alike but some bad mannered children killed the fun for all when they tried to score extra balls by stuffing the exit hole with paper. It was a sad night indeed because it seems that the café owners have decided not to repair the table. Weekend brunch: Be sure to call in advance to reserve a table for sat or sun brunch because Café des Avenues buzzes with activity during the weekends. THe brunches are popular for families. Serving american pancakes, crepes, eggs, bacon, omelets… this place is as close to home(gastronomically speaking) as I’m gonna get. Weekday: With the exception of lunchtime, the café is quiet and the perfect place to get some work done. During the week, you will find the café scattered with people working on their laptops, sipping their café or tea and nibbling on a croissant or one of their excellent goufres.

For the view or the ambiance you will not visit this restaurant but surely for its entrecôte! It is not that the ambiance is particularly bad it is actually quite good but the entrecôte is just amazing. I was there now several times for lunch and every time it is the same the restaurant is full but the service somehow always finds you a spot and you are served as if the staff would be looking for work meaning fast and very friendly! The specialty is indeed the entrecôte(I never had anything else) if you order it saignant it will be like that. And it is good and you will not pay more than 25.- incl. the drinks for the lunch. Absolutely to be recommended!

Conveniently located at a large roundabout in Montchoisi, this is my go-to place for a tea and free wifi. It has the same spacious yet cosy décor as the popular café grancy but less crowded on week days. The sunlight coming through the wall of south facing windows, the couches, bookshelves, mismatched wooden chairs all put me in a good mood when I’m here. The beverage and limited snack options are similar to other cafes. What they do have are a lot of teas(served in a mini teapot) and a tray of serve-yourself waffles by the table stacked with newspapers by the entrance. The food menu options are tasty though not extensive or particularly creative. The lasagna stands out in our mind for appearing at our table swimming in melted cheese(croute de fromage style) so it’s filling, to say the least. Make sure you book for Sunday brunch however, when young couples linger and little kids wander, and there’s shouting around the table football.
