Now that it’s summer, this place is quickly becoming my favorite«quick drink without a crowd» place. The patio might be small, but it gives you a partial view of the lake and the bartender is knowledgable and had a nice selection of wines and cocktails. For me, it’s like having the ambiance of someplace dance in Ouchy, without having to go all the way to Ouchy. Prices for wine are reasonable at $ 7 to $ 10 a glass(I know you can find cheaper at pub, but this wine much more is drinkable). Cocktails are more expensive, but I’m finding cocktails are expensive throughout Lausanne. It’s a nice place to relax on a Sunday.

I stayed here during a trip to Switzerland with my sweetie. Yes, I call her my sweetie. Is that too saccharine? Even if it its, I’m brazen enough not to care. Moving along… The Good The place is gorgeous, the view was wonderful and mere moments after lying down on the bed, my body was elevated to the heavens, where I glimpsed Kurt Cobain tuning his guitar and John Lennon wiping his glasses. They looked up, waved at me, and suggested that I dance more. What a great bed! The Bad The food in the hotel restaurant is overpriced for what you get. It was tasty in a «This is edible, and they clearly believe in the food» kind of way, but it wasn’t delicious enough to warrant what we paid for it. Do I sound thrifty? I don’t mean to. I was just disappointed. Go elsewhere to eat if you stay here. Unless you have one of those trees that belches up wads of Francs. A truly awesome hotel that is close to lots of awesome stuff. Avoid the restaurant. Take frequent naps if you have the time.
