I went to le Ptit Central last week in the early evening. The place is packed with art school students of ECAL and hipstery-looking-trying youngsters. What I like about le Ptit Central is their fair prices, their staff(most certainly alumni or enrolled ECAL students :)), their friendliness, which is sometimes rare in Lausanne. The tiles on the walls give this tiny café a very Turkish, southern European, Mediterranean atmosphere. It’s a microcosm in itself. I ordered a full-leaf mint tea, but I was a little disappointed the waiter having said that it was ‘fresh mint tea’, which I assumed would be fresh tea leaves in hot water.
