Nice hotel. Rooms are very small but that seems to be the trend in Europe. Service was good

This was my favorite hotel on my Eurotrip. I have no clue what is in the water out here but it feels absolutely magical. This hotel had the perfect pressure for water and the cold, freezing water just felt magical on your skin. Did I mention how magical this hotel was? This hotel is located right down the street from Swan Square. At night, there are different food vendors and sales vendors selling different knick knacks and delicious food. It reminds me of Hong Kong when walking up and down the street. It is gorgeous at night time since it is along Swan Lake and you are able to see the lights from the mountains and buildings. The hotel itself is very simple yet comfortable. The room was very spacious and homey.

I came here in 2010 and oddly enough, I ended up staying at the same hotel in 2014. I am very happy with the hotel, even though the wifi is 5euros, the wifi is insanely fast though. The front desk is very friendly and super accommodating. I would stay here again. The lobby is really nice and grand looking, the rooms themselves are very respectable. For me, it was interesting that there are two different rooms for the bathroom. One room for the toilet and one for the shower, both having sinks. Oh and the bathroom light is motion activated.

So the room we got was on the back side and the room was not renovated, bed was quite stiff but honestly the views here are gorgeous, we visited people in the rooms with a balcony and they were so adorable. giving 4 stars only because I know some of the rooms are great!

Near to the gorgeous Swiss city of Luzern and the mountain-ringed lake, Grand Hotel Europe exuded exactly the charming, old world ambience I had imagined to find throughout Europe. Our room here was spartan and spacious with three single beds, an open closet, desk, side table with a small television. Best feature: two bathrooms! Though only one had a full shower, this made getting dressed in the mornings all the easier and quicker. We were located on the side of the building with a view overlooking what appeared to be the trash bins. Perhaps that explained why we had a bug or two flying in the open windows, but thankfully no noxious smells. Dinner here was one of my favorite«tour-arranged» meals on the trip especially as I finally got to enjoy a fresh salad. At breakfast, a must have was the Swiss hot chocolate, piping hot from a brew machine. Though not a lavish or luxurious hotel by any means, Grand Hotel Europe is rated as first class accommodations. So for a Medieval ambience with some modern conveniences, I found it a pleasant and relaxing retreat.

Stayed here as part of a tour group passing through Luzern. It is a very old building that has been renovated(at least our room had been). The hotel was very accommodating to my birthday which happened during my stay and provided a lake-view room. With my dad’s planning, they also made me a birthday cake that was delicious. Only problem was the stuffy rooms. We tried to open our windows to cool it down, but were inundated with mosquitoes… so that was short lived. But it is a gorgeous old hotel in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately there is no free wifi available, but they did have a fantastic laundry deal…€ 16 total for as much laundry as you could stuff in the bag they provided.
