Sonntag Abend, 10 Personen, und wir warten seit über einer Stunde auf das Essen — ohne Info. Schade, passt nicht zum Restaurant.

Very Busy place. I recommend to make reservations. Only available was on the bistro side. Simple unstable tables and not so comfortable chairs. They would need some improvement. Fast and friendly service. I ordered menu 1 at 19.50 with a salad. They have a good choice and a vegetarian option. After had beef and mushroom sauce dish. All was very good. Nice wifi. Only negative point is the furniture and the noise from the kitchen.

We dined here our first night in Lucerne. Every dish was fresh and delicious. Wiener schnitzel, venison stew, and veal cordon blu were nicely presented. Homey atmosphere with lots of locals and has menus in English.

This place was very good. We shared the hashed potatoe appetizer with salad, I had a curry soup with scallop, and my boyfriend had the pork schnitzel with mushroom sauce, noodles and veggies. I highly recommend it.

Essen sehr lecker und gut abgeschmeckt. Freundlicher Service. Für die Schweiz günstig.

I came to this restaurant looking for an «authentic» Swiss experience. Fortunately, this is not the (literally) cheesy menu offered by so many such restaurants.
I started with he mixed salad. And, damn that was a good salad. It had at least eight types of vegetables, and combined them in a way that tasted great and looked wonderful.
Next, I had the «Zurich style» veal. I guess there’s not much they can do with this traditional dish, but the accompanying hash browns were great.
With a beer, it came to around CHF50 per person.

Excellent authentic Swiss food; mostly local crowd. Away from tourist spots. Very good local beer too! They serve seasonal dishes with fresh local ingredients.
Strongly recommend.

Got the veal liver, schnitzel, tuna mix app, fish w risotto, grandmas meatloaf, all fantastic great service just a 10 min walk from the more pricy and touristy spots in luzern

allgemein: seit 2013 neu umgebaut und in neuen händen. schöné einrichtung, manchmal etwas hilfloses personal. essen gut bürgerlich. minuspunkte für das zwar sehr freundliche aber nicht so wache personal und dafür, dass aus den lautsprechern anstelle jazz irgendein radiosender gespielt wird.

anmerkung: der unterlachenhof war und ist schon immer eine sichere adresse gewesen. seit der übernahme und dem umbau lohnt sich ein besuch um so mehr. die rösti könnte etwas knuspriger sein.
sauberkeit der toiletten: ok.

A bit out of the way from the tourist areas but worth the walk! Mushroom appetizer is a must, fresh fried shrooms and tarter sauce are unique and flavorful. Our entrees were recommended by our server and exceeded expectations. Veal Cordon blu was handmade with a variety of seasonal fresh veggies. Beef was slightly overdone but very tasty. A great place to experience Lucerne on a plate.

I’ll write the first English review. Very good typical Swiss/​German food. A little less pricy and much more local feeling than the touresty areas around the river and old town. A bit out of the way, probably a 15 minute walk from the river. Entrees from $ 22 – 42 CHF, wine $ 4.50−7.50 CHF. One liter of still water, two wine and two nice entrees totaled $ 77 CHF. Not bad at all for Lucerne. Service a bit slow, but not annoyingly so. English will probably be spoken by at least one person.

Frisch renoviert vor wenigen Wochen eröffent. Ich war das erste mal da. Gute Auswahl an lokalen Speisen (Kalbsleber mit Rösti, Cordon-​bleu etc.), Vorspeisen wie Dessert stehen auch zur Auswahl. Die Preise sind etwas niedriger als direkt um den Bahnhof bzw. in der Altstadt. Gerne wieder!

Ein Hammer Pfeffer und ein scharfer Rücken, echt entzückend. Drei Sösschen zum Hirsch, danach noch ein Kirsch. Oje oje, ein Wildschwein ist tot jetzt liegts auf meinem Teller zart und rot.

das beste wild in der stadt. rehgeschnetzeltes lillehammer sowie der rehrücken sind zu empfehlen!

Typische Hausmannskost: Grosse Portionen, fettig, schmackhaft und äusserst Preisgünstig. Wer Lust auf ein saftiges Cordon-​Bleu, Bratwurst mit Zwiebelsauce oder Pouletbrust an Whisky-​Rahmsauce hat, ist hier genau richtig. Dazu gibts knusprige Pommes Frites oder Croquetten, und auch etwas Gemüse. Zur Wildsaison steht auch immer frisches Wild auf der Speisekarte.
Im Sommer kann man auch draussen essen.
Vegetarier sind hier wohl eher fehl am Platze, aber auch Leute die auf ihre Linie achten wollen.
Von edleren Gerichten wie Entrecôte oder Lammfilet rate ich ab. Hier lohnt es sich, andererorts mehr zu bezahlen, dafür ein zahrtes Fleischstück auf dem Teller zu haben.
