The best food in Switzerland coupled with the worst customer service. This was my third time trying fondue in Switzerland, and by FAR the best. For the love of god, order the truffle fondue. It blows all other fondue away. I tried the half-in-half fondue there too, it was good but truffle was better. They also have amazing vegetable and meat dishes and Raclette. The atmosphere is adorable. The problem was, the waitress who sat us spoke English, but then never came back. So after waiting 15 minutes, we flagged down another waiter, who spoke no English or German, and seemed very angry that he had to wait on us. He didn’t bring us our drinks till we reminded him 3x, and I had to insist on getting the potatoes that came with the fondue, since he seemed surprised and annoyed I wanted what I ordered. But honestly, all was forgiven after I took that first bite cause OHMYGOD.

We had the traditional fondue which tasted very good but they were very slow and stingy with the bread. Five of us had the fondue and there was plenty of cheese left because they simply wouldn’t give us any more bread which made me think that they were out of bread. It was expensive like everything else in Switzerland.

Traditional swiss fondue restaurant, native hot spot. Old world medieval cave setting. There was a certain aroma that was off putting. We also found some live ants at our table. The staff didn’t seem to mind or provide much of a resolution. Probably wouldn’t visit again. On the pricey side… over $ 130USD for two.

Great fondue here, lots of items to dip in the fondue, fast quick service & friendly staff. It is a nice short walk to get here from the main part of town. Great vegetarian options.

The restaurant facility and decoration remember Middle Ages ambiance above all with it’s rustic beams. The Caveau des Vignerons is well located near Montreux train station. Friends celebrated their wedding and invited many persons. The restaurant serve authentic traditional Swiss dishes like cheese fondue, raclette, rösti(fried grated potatoes a la carte with cheese, bacon or eggs etc), dried meat and so on. My friends had beef steaks which were part cooked served on a hot stones. The procedure is to finish it cooking to your liking! They ordered fish for me. The restaurant manager and staff are really friendly and helpful. They should be flexible too! My friends enjoyed their beef steaks, potatoes and vegetables. My fish dish was OK. I can understand, it’s not their speciality. The meringue double cream dessert was very delicious. The prices are somehow above average. So here, gourmet meat lovers will maybe enjoy watching their beef steaks cooking in front of them^^
