This Italian restaurant has the local reputation of being a white tablecloth atmosphere with overpriced good food. It caters towards the upscale business crowd, which is why I was surprised when opening the menu to see a large pizza selection with a average price tag of 26CHF per pizza. Yes, the pizza comes from a wood oven, but if I want pizza I would definitely go to the other good wood oven options in town where the price is 19 – 22CHF per pizza. I have to agree with the local logic on this one, you go here for a business lunch, if the plat du jour is good. I have walked by several times, and never saw a compelling plat du jour worth my 26CHF until just the other day. It is recommended to reserve in advance, but my friend and I arrived around 12:45pm and there were still tables available. The atmosphere inside is upscale, clean, white cloth, but missing any warm touches or uniqueness. Which I found to be quite cold feeling. The service though was efficient and OK. I wouldn’t say friendly, but not rude either. The plat du jour happened to be a gnocchi dish(using the petite gnocchi), and it was very good — fresh, delicious, and tasty. Exactly what expected — good but pricey food for what it is. The hours listed say it is open Monday — Sunday 8 – 24, but that they serve food only from 12 – 2:30pm and 7 – 10:30pm(Pizzas until 11:00pm).
