The fives stars are for Beatrice Leonhardt for starters, the innkeeper I guess she’d be called. But no question this woman has a lion’s heart. And because of it and the finesse with which she runs her B&B, it follows her lead. The B&B is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of their home. We had the 3rd floor — one bedroom, a bathroom and a sitting area — which is on a bridge overlooking the 2nd floor breakfast room, sitting room and computer. The ladder like stairs which get you up to the 3rd floor makes you feel like you are climbing into a tree house. The view from our bedroom was a tree top view over Zurich — it was beautiful. When you come down to the 2nd floor in the a.m., Beatrice has set out the most exquisite breakfast; I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite as inviting. Delicious croissants, hearty rolls, strawberries(in June), cheese, meats, juice and coffee in a setting that makes you want to stay there all day. But this is Zurich so everyone gets going. Our 3rd floor bath has you astounded that a shower, sink and commode can fit into that space but fit they did but not if you are super sized. There is another bath and shower on the 2nd but I couldn’t get to compare them as they were in use. We walked to some excellent restaurants within 5 – 10 minutes of the Villa and there is an actual forest you can walk through steps away. We found this out by taking a wrong turn and driving the walkway. The nicest man remembered enough English to set us straight. Parking is tight but city transport is everywhere; their yard is so beautiful I hope my pictures can convey the look. There is street construction going on everywhere in Zurich like any city and we’re pretty sure we drove the wrong way more than once but no harm nor foul. There is a back patio where we visited with a woman from Adelaide, Australia. Hope you can experience Beatrice’s charm and her charming B&B. It is Frau KK’s favorite.
