O’Tabe

Ich wusste gar nicht das es in der Nähe meines Arbeitsplatzes ein so tolles Japanisches Restaurant gibt. Eine Arbeitskollegin hat dieses heute zu unserem gemeinsamen Lunch vorgeschlagen, wir waren um 13.00 Uhr da, das Lokal war gut immer noch gut besucht. Das O’Tabe ist klein und fein, die Bedienung war wirklich sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Was mich sehr beeindruckt haben sind die Preise für Zürcher Verhältnise zahlt man hier echt wenig, vor allem hat es ausgezeichnet geschmeckt.
Für alle Menschen mit einer Gluten unverträglichkeit haben sie auch Soja-​Sauce ohne Gluten, diese muss aber explizit verlangt werden.
Das O’Tabe hat ab heute eine neue Stammkundin ;-)

What? A sushi restaurant a hop, skip away from Paradeplatz (aka bankers capital) and it doesn’t cost CHF 100 to order a set here? Yeah right.
Well boys and girls, it is true. This place is easily forgotten because it is not on the main street, and since it’s between Nespresso and Paradeplatz, it’s often an area that people are in a rush and pass by O’Tabe without noticing it.
Four stars to decent sushi offerings at ok Zurich prices while being located just steps away from bankers paradise capital. Location, location, location. If it was in some far out neighborhood it probably wouldn’t be my first choice to go there.
Lunchtime can be busy due to its vicinity to Paradeplatz, so reserve when you can during that time.
I’d recommend having the sashimi bento box for CHF 32. For those squirmy on fishie food, go for the meat bento box — no fish! :-)
Their tea is ok, they use decent tea bags but not tea leaves. So not a total Eastern style dining paradise. I’d much prefer with Japanese food to be consumed with tea using real Japanese style green tea leaves. This place is not all run/​managed by an entire staff of Japanese unlike Samurai, which continues to be my cheap and cheery favorite (though neighborhood location there one can say is «less desirable»).
