Empfehlenswert!

Sehr schön eingerichtet, nette Bedienung, Essen ganz ok. Preise eher hoch.

Aura: Clubbing; Bar; Lounge and Restaurant. Best place to be for EDM. The stuff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. For me there is no place simular like this in Zurich, so I am a lot there, mostly at the parties on Saturdays. In the lounge, there serve also appetizer and there is a big smoking Area there, where you can sit and talk together and listen to the sound in the right volume. What can I say more. Make your own impression and enjoy; -)

New York in Zurich. Excellent. Don’t be put off if the stars hit is fully booked just head upstairs where we had a DJ banging out some great lounge music along with beautifully made cocktails(I had the caipi-jam with strawberry jam) which is their own invention and great. A lobster bisque soup with chicken drumsticks on a plate with mango oriental style salad and potato wedges. Everything was incredible, the prices were also very reasonable. So much so that I left a tip and in Switzerland I seldom do. You should really give it a try.

Pretty cool bar with nice interior design and ambiance. Good sitting area and also high tables around the bar area. If you are a single guy looking for a girl, you might find very fine looking girls in the lounge sitting area where sofa and big chairs are. If you are a single girl looking for a guy, the bar area is full of decent looking men. This bar seems to be one of places where many singles hang out without actually get mingled(guys are at the bar, girls are in the lounge area)… Music is nice. Drink is. not so good. I would go for beer :)

Trendy new restaurant in the old Swiss stock exchange building. I haven’t been here since clubbing at Alte Börse back in the day. The wait staff were quite friendly and spoke passable English. Our server was having some issues understanding us, but it could have also been due to the noise in the room. It was really loud, and we practically had to shout at each other for dinner conversation. It was really packed on a Wednesday night, so it was a good thing we made reservations beforehand. I loved the ambiance – a cool, modern, earthy style, almost zen-garden-like, with lots of natural stone and wood. There was also plenty of light, which I prefer rather than eating in semi-darkness. The restrooms were amazing. I really liked the mosaic-tiled sinks. There is also a cool wine cellar right before you enter. I wish I had my phone on me to take a picture, but I didn’t think to bring it with me, and I didn’t want to look like a lame-o who went back to the toilet just to take a photo. :P I was a bit exhausted from lack of sleep, so I didn’t drink any alcohol and can’t comment on the drinks. There is quite an extensive menu with lots of yummy-sounding options, and I opted for the grilled white tuna with basil, black olives, and eggplant caviar. You can order it as an appetizer or a main dish, and I chose the larger size for my meal. Given my past experience in their sister restaurant Tao’s, I assumed that the dishes didn’t come with any sides, so I ordered a side of almond broccoli. Turned out that my dish came on a huge bed of vegetables, so I really didn’t need the additional side. Oh well. I still stuffed it all in though, because the food was quite delicious. My tuna was tender and perfectly cooked, the veggies were a tiny bit salty for my taste, but still good. The curious«eggplant caviar» turned out to be regular cooked eggplant that was chopped up. My almond broccoli was delicious, perfectly cooked broccoli with the nice crunch of slivered, toasted almonds. I never realized that such a simple dish could be so yummy. Very glad that I ordered it.

The evening was going great — great company, good food and wine, stimulating conversation. The atmosphere in the restaurant was buzzing and full on a Wednesday night — no wonder given the fantastic location, there were many business people from nearby offices no doubt, like us. The restaurant was designed with a very modern twist on the wood and slate styles — wood tables, clean lines, a wall of slate at the back and the grill in the middle of the room. It’s a long room and we were taken to our seats at the very end, past 2 – 3 extremely large stone vases, with wooden long lamps dangling at various intervals, casting a warm but bright light all around. If anyone has been to Sake No Hana in London would understand this sort of almost modern Japanese with European infusion. There was wide stairs leading down to the little wine cellar and the bathrooms, where everything was brightly lit and safe. The bathroom was in a similar style; slates on the walls, stone vases and extremely clean and bright. It was decorated with round little mirrors placed everywhere above the sink; the sink being an extremely deep and narrow mosaic creation which matched the door handles. I ordered the Grilled Quail’s Breast on nüsslisalat with slices of foie gras and the most delicious pinenut dressing imaginable. Delicious! My friend ordered the Champagne truffel soup which smelt wonderful, with the appropriate amount of foam placed tantalisingly on top. For mains, I had the rindsfilet from the grill with Café de Paris sauce and pomme allumette on the side. My friend ordered the white tuna steak with eggplant caviar and almond broccoli as a side. Our other friend had the sliced tuna steak with a spicy kind of cucumber sauce. The food was all very delicious but here was where they failed somewhat in my opinion… 1) My friend had asked for tap water and they actually charged for each refill, coming to a total CHF9 for 8dl of tap water — not much at all, but on principle… 2) My Café de Paris sauce was such a miniscule proportion that it was impossible for customers not to ask for more sauce. That extra bit of sauce was an extra CHF2 3) Side dishes were an extra CHF7 which is normal… but considering how expensive the main dishes were… 4) A glass of Moet Chandon rosé champagne was CHF21… compared to a michelin starred restaurant I went to recently and was served a Perrier-Jouét rosé(which is far more superior in my humble opinion) was CHF19… So all in all, it was a great evening and I must reiterate that we had no complaints about the food. But really, to charge that extra CHF2 for sauce and for tap water?! How CHEAP do you, as a high end restaurant establishment, make yourself? Talk about lack of customer service in this regard(because the sauce that came with my steak was really on a nanoscopic scale…) As the Swiss would say, this is really BÜENZLI!

Aura is a quite new restaurant. The ambiance is very nice as the name suggests already; the service is good and the prices are reasonable for Zurich. I had a US stake(saignant) and it was saignant and very good.
