An interesting place to eat. Sushi and other dishes on s conveyer belt, a wide selection of Asian foods. The staff is quite friendly and multi-lingual. The feeling is of a cheaper Chinese restaurant in North America. It’s not fantastic, but alright and for Zurich it fits to cheap and cheerful. There are several all-you-can-eat options during the week and lunch specials too.

I agree with I-lin. This place had pretty good variety of asian/sushi for reasonable price last year but something has changed this year. I had a dinner buffet on Friday about a month ago and thought there was really not much sushi to eat. Only 3 – 4 kinds of sushi that circulating on the belt for almost 30 min. There was no hot food section that used to be available. For almost 30CHF, this was complete disappointment. The server said it was Friday and usually didn’t expect much customers but then they should reduce the price! My friend and I went for dinner again on Wed a couple of weeks ago. It was a similar experience as a month ago. Lack of variety, poor quality. My friend refused to go back again. So there will be no more to update in the future. PS: Tap water is charged for 2CHF. and no free re-fill of tap water either.

Uh-oh, I hate to do this, but I have to update my review and drop it down to 3 stars after visiting again last Saturday. My first visit to this place was quite pleasant, and after telling an American friend about it, he was all excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience the second time paled in comparison to the first. We came late last Saturday(around 8:30 pm), and the restaurant was about half empty. That was nice, so it wasn’t overcrowded. However, the food didn’t seem to turn over quite as much, so the buffet items were not as fresh and tasty. Some of the fried stuff were hard and definitely looked like they had been sitting in the warming trays for a while. The selection was quite sparse, and the sushi options were almost nil. I felt kind of bad for my friend, but I did warn him in advance not to get overly excited. I would say the food was okay, but not spectacular. And they raised the prices on the weekend special. It’s now offered on both Saturday and Sunday at CHF23.90 per person.

Nick hatte eingeladen das«all you can eat» Suchi mal zu probieren.

All-you-can-eat places are hard to come by around Zurich, or Switzerland for that matter. So when I found Peking Garden on Unilocal I was delighted and excited to try their conveyor belt all you can eat SUSHI :) Normally I’m not a conveyor belt sushi fan as I like my sushi made to order but hey, now that I moved to Zurich, gotta suck it up and take what I can get(without breaking the bank that is) Wednesday nights are Ladies Night, which means ladies can enjoy the AYCE for Fr. 19.90, a killer steal for this town. Men pay their normal price of Fr. 28.80, which is not bad either. My husband and I made reservation for 2 for AYCE sushi for 7pm and arrived promptly with our baby girl. The wait staff is a bit disorganized and don’t really speak much German, which is kind of expected of Chinese buffet restaurants. After«speaking» to 3 ppl, we got seated at one of the conveyor belt tables. The waitress was nice and friendly, tried real hard to help us figure out how the buckle on the baby high chair works. Apparently someone installed the buckles backwards and that was the only baby high chair the restaurant has. Eager to try the sushi and not wanting to waste more time, I simply tied the buckles into a dead knot so that my little Houdini baby cannot escape. Onto the sushi… There wasn’t much variety offered, mostly the basic nigiris like Salmon, Tuna, Tamago(egg), and Ebi(shrimp). Then there are some fish and vege maki rolls and inside out rolls. Each plate comes with two pieces. The fish is of standard size and relatively fresh. The nigiri rice underneath was on the larger side, presumably to make you full faster. In between the sushi there are small plates of edamame, seaweed salad, mixed fruit bowls in mayo sauce, and occasionally a couple of smoked salmon made to look like flowers sitting on top of a bed of iceberg salad. The top layer of the conveyor belt is of different small plates of hot Asian food of various ethnic origins but I’m mostly concentrated on the lower level to bother trying out the top options. I’m Chinese Korean American from NYC so Asian buffet varieties rarely ever impress me. My Swiss culinary non-risk taker husband ate a bunch of teriyaki chicken skewers, shrimp chips, and a couple of pieces of cooked sushi and enjoyed them. At one point, the salmon nigiris stopped coming. Probably due to my presence there, they had to send some people out to the Limmat to catch some more ;) By the time I was half way through dessert the salmon came back into rotation. I had two more pieces for good measure. The desert options consisted of a bunch of different fried stuff, which I didn’t bother with. I did take a spoonful of Lychees and Longans and mixed it with some fresh fruits like sliced oranges and cantaloupes, which were a nice closure to the meal. Overall, I liked this place and would go back for another Ladies Night pigout ;)

All You Can Eat Sushi :-) As you will have seen from other reviews, this joint has an awesome special going on Wednesday nights. What would normally be about $ 45pp for all you can eat sushi, is $ 30 for the gents of this world and $ 20 for the ladies on Wednesdays(don’t quote me on exact figures, but they are in the ball park). Cross gender i would imagine at $ 25, again dont quote me … This special was until the end of March, but when I was there a week ago, I was told they would be extending the special until the end of the year. Be worth someone verifying my statement … First of all its worth mentioning that even at $ 45 for all you can eat in Zurich, its pretty good value. Now for the experience… So this place is very busy on a Wednesday night. I can’t comment on other nights, so worth getting a reservation before hand. talking about reservations … we decided to get a small(12) Unilocal crew together to check it out on a Wednesday so i made a reservation 3 weeks in advance, booked in for 19:00. Then i found out that they usually do two sittings, one at 17:00 and one at 20:00 so I rang up two days before to confirm the resi. Turns out they had no record, and yes, we could come at either 17:00 or 20:00. Good, we made it 20:00. Gave them my name and number. When we arrived at 20:00 on the date, guess what? No record of the reservation. Fortunately we were still able to get a table all together. Apart from that I found the service very friendly, with occasional humour(can be a rarity in Zurich) and accomodating(they made us special plates of sushi on request so we didnt need to keep frequenting the train/buffet). The food was top notch for a buffet, but not mind blowing in a restaurant sense(maybe I am spoilt coming from Australia with great Asian food at our fingertips). I liked the fact that the buffet was not only sushi, but contain many options such as salt and pepper squid, honey chicken etc. It was really a feast for the senses. The restaurant itself was okay, nothing outstanding from a décor/atmosphere point of view i.e. not really date night material, unless you find food a turn on ;) which, lets be honest, is probs the case with most Unilocalers …

Was soll ich sagen. Naja trifft’s ziemlich gut. Alles in allem 3 Sterne, maximal.

Jederzeit empfehlenswert!

This new Peking Garden just opened and they got an offer on Wednesday until the 31 of March: For ladies all you can eat Sushi and warm dishes for 19.9(For guys 28.8) instead of 38.8. So we sat down in a table of four next to the conveyor belt where the food strolls in and you can take what you want. They don’t have tables for two people, so we shared the table with two other girls, which was ok for us, but might be a bit weird for some people. The Sushi came rolling in, but we did have to wait for more to come. They did have other warm Chinese dishes, but we really wanted sushi or California rolls. The staff is still in training, but they really are trying their best and the manager is also very attentive and was very helpful when we asked her to send out more sushi or something sweet. I would recommend to sit in the first two tables next to the food belt. That way you get it faster from the kitchen. The food was really good. Of course the dishes are all westernised I think and I also think they wrote wrong the name of Amaki and Marki… think correct should be Temaki and Maki, but since I’m not japanese I didn’t want to tell them about it… who knows maybe in china they say it like this… The only thing I thought was a bit funny, was that the girls next to us asked for some cold tea(or maybe something else), but got it warm instead. They told the waiter to change it, but he really insisted they tried it first, saying it was better hot. In the end they did, but I think he just wanted them to see what was on the bottom of the special little cups he brought… once you put the warm liquid in them, an image of a naked guy appeared at the bottom ;P funny yes, but a bit out of place for me… although the guys in the picture did look hot!
