The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a really nice ambiance with candles, walls with huge fish tanks, and nice table settings/cutlery. I’ve eaten here twice now — the first time being for lunch, which was quite good. I had a spicy Thai dish that was kept over a table burner for the duration of the meal. It was very good, but quite spicy(to be expected). The second time I went for dinner, I ordered the lemon chicken with rice and I honestly couldn’t identify which parts of the chicken was on my plate. It was smothered in a lemony sauce and was not very edible. The prices are quite reasonable for Zurich standards, but be careful what dish you choose.

A lot of smoke and mirrors, but significant problems with food and service. There is not shortage in western-style Chinese restaurants in Zurich, or anywhere for that matter. Most of them I tried so far weren’t great, but okay. Sometimes good. Asian Dining was very disappointing to me personally in that regard. The main reason was clearly the food: My chicken szechuan contained about 3 pieces of stringy meat. Granted: The dish didn’t taste too bad, but not great either. But for 20 bucks I’d expect a little bit more substance. While this is my only complaint about the food, my friend wasn’t so lucky. His Lemon Chicken was undercooked, the meat way below the quality of what you’d expect even in a restaurant set in the lower price-range. The sauce didn’t taste remotely fresh either and he ended up leaving about 75% of the original dish on his plate untouched. This is where service comes in: First of all: Not really friendly, not really attentive. Okay, but MILESAWAY from what it could be. Also, if someone sends back an almost untouched plate, why won’t you ask if and what’s wrong with it? Especially if you’re not really in a hurry: There weren’t a lot of people in at that time anyway. Ambience is nice. The typical way these restaurants are usually designed: Some kitsch, some pseudo-traditional chinese furniture. Actually, Asian Dining LOOKS pretty good, including the nicely illuminated bar. But said bar also reveals symbolically what’s wrong with Asian dining: A giant well-designed bar filled with a small variety of mostly bottom shelf booze sitting on the top-shelf. Go figure.
