Swissôtel

Fui a este hotel no a hospedarme (poca gente debe poder pagar un hotel así en Suiza) sino a un congreso, así que la reseña se basa en esa experiencia.
La conferencia se llevó a cabo en el primer piso. La sala para las charlas es enorme y se puede dividir en tres; como es habitual, se utilizó en su totalidad para las sesiones plenarias y luego se dividió para las sesiones en simultáneo. Son muy cómodas para el orador porque todas tienen atril para apoyar todo el papelerío, micrófono (obvio) y una pantalla en frente en el piso para poder ver las dapositivas. Por supuesto: proveen control remoto para la presentación con puntero láser y vasito de agua. Todo lo que se pretende de un hotel de esa categoría. Para el público hay sillas cómodas y al fondo una mesa con vasos y botellas de agua. Hay wi fi gratis, con contraseña que provee la organización del congreso.
El coffe break se realiza en el lobby del primer piso, y el almuerzo en una sala al fondo. Lo que más destaco del hotel: la comida, por dios, LA COMIDA. Antes de las sesiones te reciben con facturas y café. Pero no cualquier café, un expresso delicioso que lo hacés con una cafetera DE ALTA TECNOLOGÍA que con solo apretar un botón te hace un capuccino celestial. Le propuse matrimonio a la cafetera pero me respondió en suizo así que no sé que me dijo. No te gusta el café? andate de este mundo, pero antes podés tomarte un té eligiendo entre las 12 variedades que te ofrecen.
Pensé que nos iban a dar siempre lo mismo, pero me equivoqué: todos los días un menú distinto. Por la mañana cosas saladas y por la tarde cosas dulces. Sanguchitos de jamón crudo, de cocido, rolls de salmón, tartas de frutos rojos, muffins, ositos de gomita, mini toblerones, marshmallows, jugos de fruta, frutas secas. Todo acompañado de la cafetera de tu vida.
En los almuerzos pasó lo mismo, siempre menú distinto. Ponen bandejas y te servís lo que quieras: hay carne, hay pescado, hay pastas, hay ensaldas, hay mariscos, hay sopas y hay mini postres. Muy bien señalizado lo que es vegetariano y lo que es libre de gluten.
Los baños impecables, siempre limpios y provistos de todo (hasta crema para manos). Hay cambiador para bebés y espejos enormes para verte de cuerpo entero. Hay una terraza para los fumadores.
Así que como sede para conferencias es un hotel con buena organización y excelente catering. Lo único que tal vez tenga en contra es que está medio alejado del centro. O caminas 20 cuadras por una zona en la que no hay mucho o te tomás el tren, es sólo una estación.

Fabulous staff, well maintained and pristine. Fantastic location. Switzerland is insanely expensive but the Starbucks in the lobby helps with the breakfast costs and the room services prices are not more expensive than the restaurant prices. Great little gym and a wonderful lobby. Loved it!

One of the best experiences and hotels I’ve stayed at. I made the booming off
, had a 3 star rating and I don’t know why. One of the nicest places. The room was cozy but for us as a couple we just needed a bed to sleep in. The zurich HB sTation was 1 – 2 stop away and the airport was 1 stop. The train was right across the street, easy access and a super market next to the hotel. There was some construction outside but it didn’t bother us. The sound was muffle. Breakfast was awesome as it was a buffet included in our room rate. They had fresh cheeses, meat bar with deli, fresh croissants, drinks, hot and cold food, it was awesome. Highly recommended! Friendly staff!

Perfect location if staying in Zurich for a stop over to catch a connecting flight.

Train stops pretty much straight in front of the hotel and takes 4−5min to get to and from the airport.
Few restaurants located close by but can be pretty expensive $$$.
(cost 70CHF for 2x Tomato soups and a Caesar Salad down stairs).

— Pool is a good size and has great views from the top level of the building.
Both the pool and Spa are heated perfectly which is great.
— Sauna & Steam Room are both new and very well maintained.
Cleanest that I’ve been in.
— Gym was a bit of a let down. Wouldn’t really call it that at all. Not much equipment available.
1 x bench with only a small amount of light dumbbells.
2 x treadmills and cross trainers and think that’s it all.

Staying on floor 29 in a «Pinnacle Room»
Enough space for the 2 of us.
Bathroom and shower is a bit on the small size but nothing we can’t deal with.
No king size bed so we had 2 singles pushed together which is a shame.
Large pillow menu available which is good as the ones in the room to start were to soft.

Service has been great. Brought us up extra towels and robes as requested.
Staff are all friendly and happy to help.

Second visit to this hotel in two years. Last year, the hotel wasn’t undergoing the extensive renovations that are currently underway. The lobby looked fine, but temporarily doesn’t look so good.
The staff say the renovations should be complete by May 2014. In addition, the city of Zurich is making extensive renovations on the road just outside. So it is a little noisy on the street and barren in the lobby.
The positives: the rooms are contemporary and quiet, the Oerlikon rail station is literally across the street, there’s a Migros grocery chain directly in front of the hotel entrance & the hotel’s Le Muh is pretty good (especially for breakfast).
Some tips: guests should join the loyalty program for free internet service. The gym & indoor pool is located on the top floor & is open 24 hrs. Also, check rates and book early bc the hotel does match any other published rates.

Das Swissotel liegt, oder besser, steht zentral in Oerlikon, gleich am Bahnhof. Darum empfiehlt es sich, ein Zimmer weiter oben zu reservieren, dann hat man das Geschepper nicht so arg.
Ich mag hier das Frühstück und den wahrscheinlich immer noch höchsten Pool in Zürich.
Derzeit wird kräftig umgebaut, bin gespannt, wie’s wird.

I stayed at this property for a business trip and meeting site inspection in mid October 2013. The property was immaculate and the rooms were well appointed. I had a very business atmosphere with all the amenities you need.
I must say that the staff was amazing! They were on top of my every need, from restaurant recommendations, which were so on the money, to travel arrangements to shopping locations. From the moment I checked into this hotel I felt welcomed.
I took a massage during my stay that was excellent.
Let’s talk views… from everywhere. while having a massage, I was able to enjoy a perfect vista from the table.
The meeting space was incredible. There are 2 floors of meeting space. One on the lower with larger ballroom type spaces, (which can be divided) and then there is the upstairs for the smaller group meetings. Again… la bella vista! from every room. All state of the art and very typical Swiss style. Great areas to dine.
The sales team was amazing as well. They knew their inventory and their product and were able to point me in the right direction for my needs.
The restaurant was good, breakfast was a fantastic buffet, with everything for carnivores and vegetarians alike.
The only downside is the security of the internet. My internet was hacked during my stay, which can happen, (and has happened as a road warrior), to anyone. No matter, that is not a good experience.

The beds were comfortable enough and inline with European standards. It was too late that I realized they had a pillow menu. Mine were way too soft for me… so be sure to enquire.
Overall, great experience

Well located upscale hotel with a rail station and tram ride steps from the front door. Service was first class. The room was a little on the small and dark side, but very clean and comfortable. Bath and shower fine. Internet service included in our rate. Very helpful front desk with excellent recommendations for things to see and do. Restaurant Le Muh very good. Like all things in Zurich, it is expensive, but the quality shines through.

I had the great fortune of staying at the Swissotel during a recent trip to Zurich and I can’t say enough good things about it. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the hotel is very upscale, the rooms are adequately sized, clean and well-​appointed and they offer a pillow menu and turndown service to boot.
The hotel also has a free gym, pool, and steam room as well as a spa, business rooms, salon, and a Starbucks. The restaurant and bar is opened most (if not all) day long and has one of the best buffet breakfasts I’ve ever seen (for an extra charge).
Around the hotel is a small suburb of Zurich and within a couple minute’s walk are a mall, some restaurants, a grocery store, and the train station. The one and only downside of this hotel is that it’ s not in the heart of town but by train or tram you’re less than 10 minutes and only a few Francs away from all the tourist places.

We were there 2010. wonderful location and have a lot of parking, also it’s near to mall and transportation. the stuff are nice and the rooms as it’s in Europe tiny :) but I like the kids room fully with toys :)
I will stay there next time.

Gutes Business Hotel. W-​Lan ist leider nicht frei (muss man auf Zeit einkaufen, was bei dem Zimmerpreis nicht gerechtfertigt ist). Zimmer sind gut und geräumig, Dusche allerdings noch sehr alt modisch mit Vorhang sehr unestaetisch.

It’s a Swissotel, so the service is fantastic. The rooms are TINY, but well-​appointed. They are also super clean and the beds are comfortable. Probably a bit too cozy for a long stay, but perfect for a short business trip. Also, it’s directly across from the train station and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, etc. Great location.

Woher es ein Mädel wie mich ins Swissôtel treibt? Na, 2 Gründe: 1. Muss man durch die Empfangslobby des Swissôtels gehen, wenn man vom Starbucks auf die Toilette will. 2. Hat mein Grossvater hier regelmässig seine runden Geburtstage gefeiert.
Zum ersteren muss ich wohl nicht viel sagen, es ist zwar interessant nur beim Vorbeigehen all die geschäftigen oder wartenden Leute zu sehen, deren Kleidung mehr über sie verrät als ihnen wahrscheinlich lieb ist, aber sehr viel mehr gibt es da nicht zu erheischen.
Die Bankette jedoch sind… arrrrr!
Ziemlich weit oben finden die immer statt, Überblick über ganz Oerlikon und weiter. Im Saal selbst kann man sich fast zwischen all den Verwandten verlaufen, so gross ist er. Als beim letzten Geburtstag mein damaliger Freund dabei war, unangemeldet, war es kein Problem für die Küche noch ein Mal mehr herzustellen, und auch der Service hat kommentarlos noch für einen zusätzlich aufgedeckt.
Das Essen dort drin ist immer wahnsinnig toll. Von Kroketten über Gschnätzlets über Apéro über Dessertbuffet… Ich war immer ganz aus dem Häuschen. Auch als ich aus dem Kindsalter raus war und durchaus kritisch über Essen nachdenken konnte. Super! …Nur die Rechnung habe ich zum Glück nie ansehen müssen.

Zu den guten Hotels in Zürich gehört das Swissôtel. Seine Lage in Zürich-​Oerlikon ist manchmal nicht so ideal. Es liegt günstig zum Flughafen, jedoch nicht zur Innenstadt.
Mit über 300 schön eingerichteten, modernen Zimmern und Suiten sowie dem Spa und Fitness gehört es zu den grossen Hotels. Positiv ist der herrliche Ausblick auf die Alpen vom höher gelegenen Teil der Süd-​Zimmer (beim Reservieren so buchen).
Das Swissôtel ist eine der besten Locations in Zürich für Konferenzen, Veranstaltungen, Bankette und festliche Abendessen. Zur Auswahl stehen 19 renovierte Räume (mit topmodernen technischen Anlagen und Tageslicht).
Die Restaurants und die gross Bar bieten erfreuliche Auswahl und guten Service. Zur Zeit sind sie in Totalrenovation, doch darf davon ausgegangen werden, dass nach der Wiedereröffnung (in noch schönerem Glanz) weiterhin eine überdurchschnittliche Gastronomie geboten wird.
Das Restaurant und die Bar nutze ich gerne auch als Passant, wenn ich nicht mit Hotelgästen esse. Sie gehörten bisher zu den besten Adressen in Oerlikon und ich gehe davon aus, dass dies auch nach der Renovation der Fall sein wird (bin gespannt).

Gepflegte und ruhige Zimmer, guter Service, sehr leckeres und umfangreiches Frühstücksbüffet. Der Wellnessbereich ist im 32. Stock — mit herrlichem Ausblick vom Pool über große Teile von Zürich. Preislich für Zürich und den Standard noch okay. Liegt neben dem Bahnhof Oerlikon.

Saubere Zimmer und ein freundliches Serviceteam. Wer für ein paar Tage günstig in Zürich nächtigen will, kann hier getrost absteigen.

«Normales» Swissotel in einer nicht wirklich attraktiven Lage. Für eine Nacht ist es ok, für mehrere Übernachtungen gibt’s besseres. Die Zimmer sind Standard, die Restaurant bieten eine gute Auswahl.

war vor einiger Zeit da und durfte einen fantastischen Brunch geniessen. Preis-​/​Leistung ist sehr gut.

Ein Hotel, das in die Jahre gekommen ist. Empfehlenswert sind die Pinnacle Zimmer in der 27.-29. Etage mit tollem Ausblick über Zürich. Trotz der Höhe hört man auch bei geschlossenem Fenster die Züge im benachbarten Bahnhof. Fraglich auch die Funktion der Heizung, die auf manuelle Einstellung nicht wirklich reagierte. Zimmer und Bad ansonsten ansprechend, das Bad aber recht klein. Frühstücksbuffett sehr ansprechend, Servicepersonal sehr freundlich, allerdings ist der Preis überteuert, wenn das Frühstück nicht in ein Angebot inkludiert ist. Rührei und Speck leider zu kalt.

A business hotel in a blue-​collar /​industrial suburb of Zurich? Well, yes that’s exactly what this is and it’s a very nice hotel — and very conveniently located for the train station which is right opposite.
It is, to be fair, a little while since I last stayed here, but the facilities were good (nice pool, sauna and gym at the top with great views), decent restaurant, very comfortable rooms and good service.
Just not entirely sure about the location, tho’.

Das swissotel liegt recht weit weg vom Zentrum in Oerlikon, nicht dem schicksten Bezirk von Zürich. Die noch nicht komplett renovierten ganz normalen Zimmer sind nicht so schön. Ok sind Business Zimmer mit Kaffemaschine und DVD Player. Gut und zu empfehlen sind die Junior-​Suiten.
Das Restaurant ist zum Frühstück ein beliebter Treffpunkt von «nachbarn zum Kaffee», dadurch ist es oft sehr voll und manchmal ist es schwierig einen Platz zu bekommen. Im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels in Zürich ist das Frühstück gut.
Wirklich schön ist der Pool/​sauna-​Bereich im obersten Stockwerk. Aus der Trockensauna und im Pool hat man einen sehr schönen Blick. Der Fitness-​Bereich ist mickrig und im Durchgangsbereich zum Pool nicht gut platziert. Die nötigsten Geräte sind vorhanden und auch in einem guten funktionsfähigen Zustand. Das gesamte Haus ist seit längerer Zeit Nichtraucher. WLan vorhanden aber recht teuer.

Inzwischen ist es ja bei meiner Lieblingsserie Lost wohl jedem Zuschauer klar geworden, dass bei den vielen Rätseln, um die es dort so geht, die Lösung etwas mit einer Zeitreise zu tun hat. Will man nun eine solche Zeitreise in der Wirklichkeit erleben, dann besuche man das Swissotel in Oerlikon, zwischen dem Zentrum von Zürich und dem Flughafen. Es ist gut mit der Bahn von letzterem in fünf bis zehn Minuten zu erreichen. Man gehe im Hotel in den Fahrstuhl und drücke auf den Knopf für das 31. Stockwerk. Und tatsächlich wird man dann eine merkwürdige Lücke, also einen Zeitsprung erleben, ungefähr zwischen Stock Nummer 3 und Stock Nummer 11. Die erforderliche Zeit für die entsprechenden Stockwerke fehlt einem einfach.
Aber es geht noch weiter mit den Zeichen und Wundern. Während in den Hotelprospekten fleißig mit der Aussicht aus dem Pool im 32. Stockwerk geworben wird, kommt man beim Nachzählen von außen nur auf gut zwanzig Stockwerke (grob geschätzt, der hier Schreibende war noch durch den Zeitsprung verwirrt). Jemand hat da glatt doch ein paar Stockwerke geklaut. Und das in der Schweiz, wo doch die Hotelerie sonst alles — inklusive der Hotelqualität — so perfekt, wenn auch etwas charmefrei unter Kontrolle hat.
Zur Beruhigung kann ich jedoch sagen, dass der Ausblick aus dem Pool im obersten Stock dennoch etwas hat. Eine schöné Landschaft, mit nicht zu viel Stadt, dafür vielen bewaldeten Hügeln und sogar ein paar verschneiten Alpengipfeln im Hintergrund. Nur dass sie hier die Sauna auf eine 65 Grad Bio-​Sauna umgestellt haben, verstehe ich nicht so ganz. Das erscheint mir eher ein Konzept für alte Damen zu sein, während hier im Hotel doch eher die üblichen Berater, Konzernmitarbeiter und sonstigen Handelsvertreter in Massen logieren. Dafür ist aber das Dampfbad schön heiß, und das passt dann wieder.

Stayed here when my ZRH-​BKK flight was canceled. The hotel staff manage to handle us quiet well. Free shuttle to airport. Very near to train station. Anyway here’s the video. Didn’t experience anything disastrous. So i guess, its another hotel room. Not too great to compliment but good enough to spend a night or two.
