Tyson’s opened just a few months back and is ready for you to come in for: a. DVD rentals and video games b. frozen yogurt c. art gallery events Yes, Tyson’s(named for the owners’ dog and not the ex-boxer) is all that and a bag of chips. The video selection is small, but packed with films I would like to see, if I(mostly) hadn’t already. Genres include: European art-house, Hollywood blockbusters, a bit of Bollywood, and documentary. Tyson’s also rents a few solid TV series like Life on Mars with John Simm, Borgen, Homeland, Dexter, and, the current darling, Downton Abbey. The fro-yo on offer is natural flavour with a hint of vanilla. This frozen, tasty treat needs none of the toppings – from berries to choco-chips to gummi bärchen – on offer to pretty it up. Five CHF for a small portion. On Friday, March 13th the shop will begin featuring the work of a Jamaican artist called Courtney Forbes. Forbes’ work will be up until the third week in April. I am very curious to see how Tyson’s will transform itself for the duration. If any local resident is in need of a Wim Wenders flick and a cup of fro-yo to-go for a night in on the sofa, then get on down to Tyson’s! Art enthusiasts from all over ZH might do well to check out the temporary art exhibits. The proprietor is knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. I’ll wager one wouldn’t be disappointed. *they don’t sell music CDs
