i have some vinyls in cold storage.
i bought katy perry’s vinyl at her concert.
but i do not own a turntable.
so what do i do?
go HOT of course!;)
so far so good?
the HOT team that i have met so far, rafael, has, jules and fion are all super patient and knowledgeable.
i walked in one afternoon just wanting to learn a little more about something that was a blast from the past, a not so distant past?
has was the first to entertain me.
she kindly, carefully and gently explained to this noob the basics of what is needed to get my vinyls out of cold storage and back spinning again.
after learning about the space and setup that i needed, i proceeded to look for the perfect spot to hook everything up at home.
my initial idea of hooking it up to my existing home theatre system in the living room was canned due to a lack of space.
meanwhile a friend from the UK, whom i brought to an electronics shop, suggested i get a sound bar for my master bedroom?!
that eureka moment made getting a turntable a not so distant reality!
so back to HOT i went and narrowed down exactly what i needed to make my dream of spinning a reality!
the most important decision was what colour to get?:)
RED of course, the colour of Unilocal!
rafael was the second point of contact and he never pressured me into making a purchase.
but rather it was i who kept pressuring him into making it happen by sweetening the deal!
i broke for UYE at hoshino just to see if i really wanted to make that purchase.
and back i came just before closing.
jules and fion slowly and steadily configured my turntable before carefully packing it away for transportation.
every detail of what needed to be done, precautions to take, finer points and care for the turntable and vinyls were explained.
this ate into their time as we finished well after their official closing hour.
yet they did not mind and did not show any hurry to get us out of the shop!
i also got from them sam smith’s vinyl and placed an order for ed sheeran’s X as it is sold out!
