Dan Ryan’s Chicago Grill

Pacific Place is a shoppers paradise with big name brand and designer stores by the dozen, and all that shopping is hungry work so it’s a good thing the mall has its fair share of restaurants to boot. One of my favorites here is Dan Ryan’s.
Located on the first floor, just around the corner from the cinema, Dan Ryan’s is an American style restaurant that always hits the spot. The menu proclaims: Warning we serve American portions, hmmmm, maybe I was just hungry.
There’s a good range of steak and chops on offer as well as American classics like chicken wings, potato skins and burgers. It’s a bit pricey — my lamb chops and fries came in at HKD248, which I did feel was a bit steep — but you always pay a premium for at this type of restaurant in Hong Kong.
There is bar style seating in the front, with good views of a large TV screen from almost anywhere, and a more sedate restaurant dining section in the rear. They’ve got the atmosphere pretty much right and you could be in a steakhouse diner anywhere in the world (so if you’re looking for local flavour maybe try Peking Garden downstairs).
