This review is from an American’s perspective. My husband and I took a gamble on Hotwire when changed our travel plans last minute during the second leg of our honeymoon. We ended up with Vincci Bit after the infamous nail-biting confirmation page load, and as I write this review as we drink beers on the rooftop on the last night of our 4-night stay, we couldn’t have been more satisfied. Things we loved: This hotel is in the forum area of Barcelona, so it’s about a 15-minute metro ride on the L4 line to the tourist attractions in the center of the city. The hotel is located in a residential area, surrounded by a couple of preschools. It is right off Avinguda Diagonal, which is a walking/biking boulevard that feels very safe. There’s also a big mall within 7 minutes walking distance with decent shopping with stores like Zara, H&M, Pull & Bear and a giant grocery store. And a Starbucks. This sounds silly, but a big plus if you are used to drinking iced coffees in the U.S. The location is a 10-minute walk to the beach, and because it’s a bit more north it’s not overrun by tourists. During our stay we spent a couple of hours laying out at Mar Bella and walked right back to the hotel to clean up. The front desk even provided us a couple of towels to use at be beach. Front desk and general service at the hotel is superb. Seriously nice and helpful. Décor is modern and stylish. The hotel is fairly new, which we typically don’t care about, but we found that it came with its perks, such as outlets everywhere in the room(rare in the EU) and even a North American power outlet. We suspect they cater to English-speaking if not American clientele. The shower is memorable with rain showerhead and handheld with plenty of water pressure. Beds are comfy and large. WiFi(free) is better than most hotels we have stayed at in Europe. Rooftop pool is small but OK for a quick dip. The rooftop lounge is also small but great for relaxing. We did this when we first got in and on our last night with a couple of beers and some food and it was just so easy and peaceful. Things to consider: This hotel is not in the«middle of things.» We were OK with and even preferred this as we were coming off of a week+ in Germany where we stayed smack dab in the middle of Munich’s tourist area and were seeking a bit of a relaxed environment. People staying here seemed to be a mix of couples and small groups of friends(late 20s/early 30s on up) and some business travelers.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while in Barcelona. It’s a bit further from the main tourist sites, but just a short 20 min metro ride away. The L4 metro stop was near the hotel — so we could hop on & get into the main attractions conveniently. Had a room on the 3rd floor, the hallway on 3rd floor had graffiti on walls that were a bit scary, red snake & large eyeball looking at you down the hallway. Not the most soothing floor décor. Lol Our room was pretty cool though, modern & hip and clean. Breakfast was good, with ham, eggs, pastries, fruits yogurt juices and more. :) I love the croissants & Iberico ham. Staff was friendly too. We enjoyed our time here!

I’ll start with the positives of this hotel. its a cool, chic, retro design, trendy hotel. I loved everything about it. The room itself its very spacious, the bed is incredibly comfortable, high quality linens. The bathroom doesn’t have a tub but the shower is awesome. Bathroom was stocked with all the necessary condiments like toothpaste, brush, razor, and even a loofah. As in many European hotels there is no iron in the room but you can request one and it will be delivered to your room. The breakfast in the morning has a large variety of meets and cheeses, there were a few hot dishes and of course, tons of pastries. Hotel provides free wifi. The staff is very accommodating and willing to answer any questions. There is a roof top pool, but it was very small and shallow, jacuzzi would make more scene there. Will i stay in this hotel again? Probably not, and the only reason being. its just simply too remote from everything. When you walk out of the hotel, there are nothing around except apartment buildings and one big mall. You have to take a 30 minute subway ride in order to get to the lively parts of Barcelona.

So this hotel is interesting. First, it’s kinda artsy and designery. You kinda wanna walk to all the floors to see how they are done. Second the staff is as friendly as it will get in the EU. And thirdly, and most amazingly, the WiFi is very fast and reliable. What’s odd? There is absolutely nothing around this hotel. Your room won’t be made up by 4 pm if you happen to mozy back by then. I’ve tried for two days now to get laundry service and it’s not happening despite whatever outrageous cost they want for it. And the gym is only open for a third of the day and you have to go to the front desk and get a gym card daily(!), your room card won’t just work for gym access. And then, the terrace on the roof closes at seven PM, odd for Barcelona. When you add this all up, WiFi is still king, and that makes this hotel a solid choice if you need to stay in the immediate area.
