We enjoyed a wonderful dinner in a most romantic first floor restaurant overlooking the main Competa Square. The dining room in early December was empty of diners apart from us but the wood burning stove, beautiful Spanish paintings and ceramics, chandeliers and views of horseriders in the Square being served a tray of drinks by our host made it a very special evening. The menu was varied and still included some of the standard favourites and the food was well cooked. Best pudding was a crêpe with honey and almonds — simple and delicious. Lots of people enjoying drinks and tapas in the bar downstairs and on a warmer evening a table outside would have been our first choice but this was a great new experience and I would certainly choose it again for a winter’s evening. The prices were reasonable and the house wine pretty good. Service was just right. Definitely worth a try.
