Carrefour Market

Recién llegado a la ciudad debía proveerme de cuestiones básicas de alimentación o morir por inanición.
Carrefour es una cadena que también está en Argentina y por eso fui ahí primero para ver qué podía encontrar acá. Resultó ser bastante grande, tiene un área de carnicería y embutidos y otra de pescadería justo en frente de todas las verduras y frutas. Todo parecía bastante bueno para lo que es un supermercado, al menos a los que estoy acostumbrado.
Encontré bastante variedad de productos, básicamente hay de todo, había una relativa buena selección de cervezas (es algo que siempre observo), aunque podría ser mejor. Estaba muy limpio, la música que había era agradable (no era la radio como en otros lugares) y tampoco había tanta gente para que se complicara la circulación.
La línea de caja está separada para la gente que tiene un carro o la que va con una cesta, eso también hace que ahorres tiempo. Hay una línea única para esto último y estaban funcionando ⁵⁄₆ cajas simultáneas por lo que no esperé mucho para pagar.
Con respecto al precio mucho no puedo decir porque aún no me acostumbro al valor del euro y su poder de compra pero creo que estaba bastante bien para lo que compré. Comparando precios con Argentina, mucho más económico.

Market porque es más pequeño que un hipermercado Carrefour, la ventaja que tiene es que está en el barrio y no hay que desplazarse.
Esta distribuido en dos plantas, es espacio, tiene gran variedad de productos y ofertas.
Dispone de secciones de productos frescos como: Carnicería, charcutería, pescadería, panaderia, la fruta te tienes que servir tú mismo, tiene sección de platos preparados.
El establecimiento acaba de ser reformado.

Nice market in Madrid with good prices, When I was in Madrid I stoked up on groceries here. Carrefour is a major grocery chain from France, so they cary a lot of French foods as well.
The store is a nice walk up Calle de Fuencarral from Gran Via about 20 minutes each way by foot through a nice area of shops, a museum etc. If your not in the mood for a walk taxi or it is right by the Queverdo Metro station. I enjoyed getting into a residential area away from the other tourists.
Finding what you want can be an adventure as staff are mostly busy working the cash register though rarely you will see one sprinting through talking to no one. At the registers they did not speak English though we got along fine with gestures. By the way I really liked there recyclable bags.
Also note:
1 I am reviewing Carrefoure Market not any of the numerous Carrefoure Express: they are much smaller and usually a bit more expensive.
2 Hint the milk is in boxes on the shelfs, not in a refrigerator it is shelf stable until opened by the way its close to the eggs also not in a refrigerator.
3 This is Europe they accept cards with a chip in them,
4 Check out all the bags up front waiting for the delivery guy to pick them up!

This is a nice Supermarket, very modern and large with a good range of products, even a small bit for Gluten Free as well as a large selection of Iced Coffees and more.
Some items were overpriced compared to what we would pay in the UK however they do have some great items at reasonable value including Iced Coffee Drinks and Heinz Baked Beans.
The staff were helpful and spoke a good knowledge of English to assist me to find Gluten Free and at the Checkout.
I also like the computerised screens similar to What we (UK) have in Post offices, calling people out to a checkout on a electronical screen.
