Hotel looks great when walking in. Very impressive look as far as design goes. Spacious rooms, clean, modern look, wood floors, beds are a little on the springy side as a Unilocaler stated earlier, but I personally did not expect any better as when you walk around the city you will notice those are just the types of beds they actually sell/manufacture. Talk about walking around, this is in the ideal location. The plaza mayor is right by this hotel as well as a few other main«squares.» This is great because the plaza mayor features great restaurants and some minor entertainment. They offer a fairly priced breakfast at 10 Euros but it is very standard tasting; nothing impressive or that does the food Madrid has to offer justice. The patio was open/availanle but it was raining. The patio looks very basic but apparently has been fixed since the review posted previously. The bar was closed all three nights that we stayed there. I would have enjoyed that as it began raining on one of the nights. But we eneded up having to leave the hotel and find a bar that offered an English menu(which takes time). Also, there will be no entertainment available inside your rooms. I feel this is important to mention as if one has kids or a family they would have a terrible time. A lot of people and children rely on wifi to connect devices; the wifi here is not consistent and works at extremely slow speeds… barely enough to load an email. At certain times of the day and night it also shuts off. If you rely on this for movies or applications; it will not work. Furthermore, the tv channels were only available in Spanish. I have traveled to 14 countires and each one offered a minor selection of English channels or at least movies in that language available for purchase. This hotel did not. My boyfriend ended up in a room with two twin beds on our vacation. That is unheard of. The invoice stated it can be two twin or 1 double bed. We emailed them specifying we want a double bed. But obviously that was not acknowledged, even though they answered the other few questions we listed in that same email. The shuttle service the hotel offeres to and from the airport in incredible! Great deal and very punctual. I highly recommend this if applicable to you. You can make a reservation for this service by email or phone through the hotel. I actually only gave this place 4 stars because of how easy the shuttle service was to book. And how punctual the man was. By the way, their rates are reasonable and the vehicle was spacious. Otherwise, this hotel is definitely a 3 star.

This hotel looks fantastic on the website. The price was great so we gave it a try. The good: it’s inexpensive and ok for the price. It is centrally located which is very handy for getting around and seeing Madrid. You can walk to the Prado, to the mercado san Miguel, to Santa Ana plaza. Everything, gyms, laundry ect. is nearby. Staff is ok– some very helpful. The bad: The place is very worn out compared to the photos on its website. The bar was never open or lit over the three days I stayed there– day or night. The supposed restaurant was only open for a self serve breakfast. The gym I never saw because it was locked and you had to go down to first floor to get a key from the desk. The roof deck had no plants, five chaise lounges and was weathered grey in places. The walls were thin enough to hear conversations in adjacent rooms. Shower sprayer holder in the shower was broken and the tiles had missing grout. When we asked the desk help where a good breakfast place was– he said, «we have breakfast here.» «Yes– but we want to go out for breakfast nearby, is there anywhere close?» He responded, «I dont’ know.» — in other words, I’m going to drive away business. If you stay here, try«The Rollerie» for breakfast one block away. The Wifi worked about 30% of the time– which is extremely annoying. There is also no place in the hotel where the signal is strong. It cuts out frequently. The beds– thin, and feel those steel springs. By U.S. standards, this is a two star hotel. If go expecting that for the price you will be very happy. If you expect something at level of the Marriot based on the website– you may be disappointed.
