We ate at 3 other churro places in Madrid, but this one was the best one by far. There is a lot of seating outdoors, but the seating indoors was limited. When we came in, there was a line that wasn’t too long, but there were always a number of people waiting in line when we were eating. A lot of locals were eating here.
We all really enjoyed the churros and the chocolate here. The chocolate wasn’t too thick and wasn’t too sweet. The churros weren’t oily like at the other places we’ve tried. There were also churro sandwiches with seafood in them and churros with filling inside. I definitely would have tried the churro sandwiches, but maybe another time.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Madrid!

We had churros dipped in thick chocolate and I thought it was good and reasonably priced, but I’ll admit this was a first. It was harder than expected to find a place offering churros with thick chocolate to dip in, so we have not had a chance to compare yet. I’d just be curious to see if other places offer their churros and chocolate warm, ours were cold and from other reviews it looks like they should be warm. Very satisfying though, accompanied with a coffee for a small break while visiting Madrid.

Los churros están muy buenos (nada aceitosos) así como el chocolate. El resto de inventos para conseguir clientela más variada con colores y demás, me niego a probarlo, pero mala pinta no tiene.
El sandwich Club Churrero es impresionante.
Ahora bien, el servicio es terrible. Los camareros que atienden la terraza son bastante maleducados y parece que les molesta unicamente tu presencia. Muy descontenta en cuanto a esto.

Chocolate con churros is amazing, as well as some sandwiches like Club Churrero.
The service outside is terrible, really disappointed. I think Madrid is famous by the friendly service at bars and restaurants, and people like that just ruin that.

I have been there twice and I think I understand the bipolar reviews. It depends on what you order. If you get any of the many churro offerings, you will feel like it is nothing special, and over priced. However, if you get the Cajun beignet with hot chocolate, this place is 5 stars! The beignet is a little pillow of sugary pastry perfection, and the hot chocolate is like drinking molten fudge. They are absolutely delicious. Forget the fat churros.

Loved the mini chocolate churros and the churro with oyster. Reasonable service. Nothing special. Always a place to sit and very conveniently located. Most likely the best churros I had while in Madrid.

Stopped by here for a capuccino and an assortment of short little flavored churro pieces.
They have seating inside and outside.
The coffee and goodies were tasty, and the seating was comfortable in the plaza.

wow… major disappointment. This used to be my favorite churro place in Madrid up until 2010. something must have happened. the place looks like it was sold off or new management… they now offer a bunch of cutesie gimmicky things including a To Go churro pack, but the quality is just not there. My churros were cold and my chocolate watered down.

De los lugares más sucios que he visto nunca! Un servicio pésimo y además de todo esto se aprovechan de la zona para poner unos precios altísimos! Los churros no están mal pero teniendo así de sucio el mobiliario y la vajilla no me lo comí con demasiada confianza la verdad! Nada recomendable!

My tour guide (my friend a Madrid native) circled around a few areas looking for authentic churros con chocolate and we ended up in this brilliant café. Basic honest good food and drink and decent prices. Three adults and one child (girl aged 5) enjoyed every tasty mouthful.

I’m not sure why this churro and chocolate emporium isn’t more highly rated because it was pretty darn spectacular.
A note of caution about Spanish hot chocolate: it’s thick. You’re probably thinking thick like clam chowder, but no, I mean thick like flipping your mug over and waiting 15 seconds for it to ooze out. The chocolate is so dense that you can lay your spoon on top and it won’t sink. Needless to say, this isn’t the sipping variety Americans are used to.
Also, the churros are not slathered in sugar and cinnamon. These are more like doughy vessels, doused in a sprinkle of fairy dust and meant exclusively to be dipped fondue style in the chocolate.
After trying various chocolaterias, I felt Maestro’s had the best consistency and flavor. It was just sweet enough without being obnoxious with a flavor that didn’t get tiresome. Not bad for a 4 Euro pincho (4 churros and one mug of hot chocolate).

The food is terrible and the service worse. It is better to spend your money at civilized restaurants rather than this one.
I have written Unilocal reviews for may years, and I do not like to slam small businesses. But this was so bad, I felt justified.

Su nombre ya invita a, una vez allí, pedir un chocolate con churros (como es mi caso) o con porras (que a mí me gustan menos). Pese a eso, al nombre tampoco es que sea el mejor chocolate de Madrid precisamente. Los churros están algo mejor pero tampoco son excelentes. Además de diferentes variedades tanto de chocolate como de café hay que indicar que los precios cambian si son en barra, mesa, terraza, etc… porque suele ser una cosa que si vas de primera te pasa y si estas en la terraza no te vas a levantar e ir a la barra porque queda un poco cutre, pero da rabia. Dada su situación céntrica pueden tardar en atenderte y más en fin de semana invernales en los que sí apetece de veras un chocolate con churros.
Pero como digo para tener un nombre tan rimbombante tampoco es que la calidad del chocolate sea para tirar cohetes. Vamos que no es de mis fijos en el asunto sino que sólo si caigo por allí.

Bueno vale… para tomar un chocolatito no está mal… aunque hay sitios mejores, pero todo sea por lo conocido que es y lo lleno que está siempre. Pero más que por el típico chocolate con churros que entra de lujo en tardes/​noche de frío e invierno en Madrid, yo reconozco que las veces que he ido (hace ya un tiempo) ha sido por sus gofres.
La verdad es que en cuestión de churros y chocolates tengo mis lugares preferidos y me temo que éste no es uno de ellos. A lo mejor tengo que volver para ver si ha cambiado algo desde que no voy por allí.

Para mi, un domingo no es domingo si no empieza con un buen chocolate con churros. Tanto es así, que tengo mi propia churrera para hacerlos en casita. Los hago de todas las formas y tamaños, con una receta perfecionada a mi gusto y fritos en su punto exacto.
A lo mejor es por eso que los churros de este lugar me decepcionan tanto.
Se supone que son lo más haciendo churros, pero la verdad es que las dos veces que al pasar por allí se me han antojado y he entrado a comprarlos estaban grasientos, frios y nada crujientes.
Eso por no hablar del precio que tienen, que parece que estuvieran vendiendo oro, ni de lo sucio y descuidado que está el local.
Eso sí, siempre está a tope de turistas. Claro, como ellos no saben de que va esto de los churros seguro que hasta les parece que están riquísimos.

Decepcionante. Se supone que están especializados en churros y chocolate y ninguno de los dos están muy allá. Además, está siempre abarrotado y es sucio.

Chocolateria-​cafetería. Luegar ideal para desayunar o merendar. Cafés y chocolates preparados de diversas formas: cacpuchino, americano, irlandes, o chocolate con nata, a la madrileña (¿?), etc. Tienen gran variedad de bollería y tartas de fabricación propia.
El sitio no está mal, aunque hay que estar atento, porque tienen diferentes precios para barra, mesa y terraza; y entre una y otra los precios varían bastante.
Por cierto, el chocolate no está muy allá, me recuerda a los que vienen ya hechos en tetrabrick.
