Edit: downgraded to 2 stars because is repeatedly told them(in Spanish, even) that I’m a celiac and cannot consume wheat or flour, and found out the hard way that my dish contained gluten. Like, come on. Three stars because the food was amazing. Wanted to give it 2 stars but the STEAK. Oh, THESTEAK! As a Texan, 2 weeks in Europe will really hit you hard – not enough GOOD, rare beef. Texan is synonymous with«STEAK». Anyways… Amazing food. Truly. Good atmosphere. TERRIBLE service. Yes, horrible. If you don’t speak Spanish fluently, then forget it. What’s that? You know broken Spanish/passed your high school AP Spanish test with flying colors? Doesn’t matter. At one point, while trying to explain to our waitress that we would like our steak rare, she got upset and yelled at us in Spanish for 30 seconds and processed to walk away. She came back with a waiter who spoke fairly decent English who places our order for an incredible steak. We even apologized for our terrible Spanish afterwards and tipped her 10 euro, but that didn’t matter. She still rolled her eyes a lot, and took her sweet time when waiting on us. All the food is great though. If you have patience, eat here. If not, go to Barcelona – they speak English. No one in this city speaks a damn word.

Ambiance and design was extremely chic, very modern and minimalist(black and white interiors, muted brown furniture, exposed brick, glass, and then the added touch of the big yellow rubber duck statues). The food was delicious. The tuna tartare was my favorite. The staff was extremely nice and attentive. Here’s an instagram video of the inside design & of our food:

The clams are a must! Also the apple pie as a dessert! If you are at Madrid this is a place you shouldn’t miss!

Go there! Great friendly service… amazing food and a wonderful contemporary atmosphere. Highly recommend. Our best meal in Madrid on our four day visit. From my POV a great value as well.

One of the worst dining experiences ever. The service was abysmal. We ordered many dishes, thanks to the ability to order half portions, so we could try a lot of different things. Only one was even edible. Although I have to admit that that one dish, the grilled octopus, was fairly good. They clearly spent all of their money on the décor, which is spectacular, and perhaps buying a few reviews as well. Apparently, that left nothing for the hiring of competent staff(in the kitchen or on the floor) or the purchase of quality ingredients. So, go and have a drink and take a look around, but don’t order anything to eat or you’ll be sorry.

I’m giving it 4 stars just because I’m reserving the 5* for the absolute best. I first came here a couple of years ago, lnowing what I was coming to, was a uual suspect of the other restaurant owned by Benjamin and Chicote, NODO. The first time I came we had burrata, croquetas, meatballs. Amazing!!! Last saturday we changed it up a bit, we ordered red prawn scrbled eggs, scallops and steak tartar. I simply have no words. I’ve always thought the best steak tartar was at NODO buat the last time I went it had lost quality, well at Pan de Lujo they have taken NODO’s original recipe and it simply was to die for! Alberto Chicote still makes the best steak tartar in town!

Awesome. One of the best restaurants I’ve every been. Ambience, food, quality, flavor and competitive price. Definitely my first option in Madrid.

How can I possibily be the first person to be writing a review for this super-chic location in Salamanca? This is an excellent restaurant with very good food and a fun atmosphere. The prices are a bit steep and the service is a little haughty, but overally I really like this place a lot for an upscale Spanish dining experience. The main restaurant is built around a courtyard, which is asthetically very cool. The front dining area has a huge family style table that I have never eaten at, but looks like itd be a great place with a large group. Pan de Lujo isnt one of my regular stops, but if you are into the foodie thing and want to go out somewhere shiek, Pan de Lujo is a must.
