Great place to grab a quick bite to eat or sit for hours and chat. Excellent tapas and racciones for a cheap price compared to the rest of Madrid. Rubi is a chain that had been around for a while so they definitely know how to cook their food.
I love croquettas and try them at every Spanish bar and here at Rubi, they are better then most.
It’s a typical Spanish bar. Therefore, service will be slow if you sit anywhere else, but the bar. ENJOY!

Super cheap, easily accessible bar-​cafeteria in the Glorieta de Cuatro Caminos. I went to eat a quick bocadillo (La Paleta, con chorizo y queso de crema) and was happy with the quickness of the service as well as the price (3,60 euro for the sandwich and a bottle of beer). Nothing to write home about, but a good quick option.

Bocadillo de bonito con pimiento a la una de la madrugada de un jueves cualquiera: esto es lo que te da este bar. Yo estaba hambriento, pero me supo muy bueno. 2’60 euros y lo tuve en menos de 2 minutos. Y me lo comí en 1.
El ambiente del bar a estas horas es curioso: mezcla de borrachines, funcionarios nocturnos y gente rara.

Ni tiene a los camareros más guapos ni es el más limpio de la ciudad ni hacen cocina creativa, pero a mí este bar me salvó muchos días de morir de hambre cuando llegaba de trabajar.
Obligatoiramente teníaq ue pasar todos los días por la glorieta de cuatro caminos, y muchas veces cuando salía del metro ‘esfamiá’ de llevar 12 horas currando sin nada que llevarme a la boca los bocatas del rubí me salvaban la vida. Baratos (2 euros y pico el bocadillo) grandes y ricos, no se puede pedir mucho más.
