sailed from Lisbon to Vigo, host to the biggest fishing port in the world. memorably, our boat docked on a small marina right by a sleek terminal with a foot bridge to historic centro. it took all of 5 minutes from the quay to hilly Old Vigo, where the sea peeked from most every corner. asked shopkeepers where we could tuck into some primo seafood and Galician cooking, most pointed to El Capitan. fresh from the waters of the atlantic, we had hand harvested mussels, cockles and prized goose barnacles, seafood empanada gallegos, xamón asado(braised pork hocks), queso tetilla and Ribeiro wines. a verrry fine lunch it was. sin duda, muy recomendable.
