I dont know nothing about the Hotel. But the restaurant, witch is on the great location had its better times behind. It was once a great place to eat. I’m sorry to add, that its not anymore.

This past Fall, as part of a cruise taken on the Danube(through Earthbound Expeditions), I had the good fortune to discover a wonderful hotel in the heart of Prague(capitol of the Czech Republic) that is central to many excellent sites of interest in the heart of this ancient and most beautiful city. The hotel is ‘Yasmin’, which translates(as one might expect) to ‘Jasmine’. Our group resided here for three successive nights, while making a leisurely traverse of the fabulous Danube(‘Donau’ in German) River, the only European river that courses east and west, from Germany to the Black Sea(most traverse north & south). Yasmin is situated just blocks from Prague’s Central Plaza, hence it is easily accessible to a wide range of pedestrian excursions, famous sights & important local venues. A mere block away is the renown ‘Museum of Communism’, for example, whereas a few blocks from the hotel is the famous & beautiful Prague State Opera(where we witnessed Mozart’s ‘Le Nozze de Figaro’ one highly evocative evening), a period jewel of architectural splendor that has witnessed a wide range of famed operatic & symphonic works by composers & artists since 1888(when it was built). The restaurant at Yasmin is also superb, offering a breakfast feast(included with the accommodation) that is truly amazing and an excellent & elegant evening dining experience, as well(with a full wine list that features many top-grade Czech wines). I have yet to hear of anyone who complained about either the service or the quality of the excellent cuisine offered there. My own dining experience at Yasmine’s restaurant was easily 4 – 5 stars on the popular rating scale. Insofar as the accommodation itself is concerned, the modern rooms were exceptionally clean and the maid service top notch. Beds are turned down for the patrons and a small local example of excellent Czech chocolate is left on the pillow… a nice touch that anyone would appreciate. The room heating & cooling system is automatic, although thoroughly adjustable to preference, and a restful sleep is assured. The Concerge service is exceptional, as might be expected of any hotel promoting itself as a first-class European establishment, and all the Yasmin staff & personnel are fully English conversant(as is almost everyone in Prague, due to the great number of English-speaking tourists visiting the city). Yasmin’s prices are furthermore quite reasonable, arrayed against the range found across the city, but its chief asset is access to the very heart of Romantic old Prague. You will be most pleased with your stay there, I am quite sure, if my own experience is any referent gauge. Prague, as a destination, is still something that those who are unfamiliar with the Czech Republic must see. Although tourism is now the chief economic source of income for this capitol of the Czech Republic, the city when visited in the beautiful Autumn months is spectacular. The tourist crowd has abated substantially by then and one has the city, in all its well-preserved scenic beauty, to one’s self. Prague was spared the total destruction that most of German-occupied Europe suffered as a result of WW2 allied bombing, since it was deemed to not be a strategic target of any significance; hence it is almost totally intact and most of the edifices date well back to the Middle Ages. As the site associated with famed Czech writer Jaroslav Hasek’s classical anti-war comic figure ‘Good Soldier Schwejk’, Prague has a number of cafes, restaurants & public houses that associate with Hasek’s famed character, the reluctant Austro-Hungarian Army Private Josef Schwejk. If you aren’t familiar with either Schwejk or Pulitzer Prize Winner Jaroslav Hasek, check either out on GOOGLE. Needless to say, Prague’s excellent, world class beer Pilsner Urquell is on tap just about everywhere you go! And mark ‘Yasmin’ as your choice of a most pleasant Prague accommodation!

This review is for the restaurant only. Visiting from the States and was very impressed with both the ambiance and food. Everything our party of 4 ordered was absolutely delicious! We also had hot tea, cold elderflower lemonade, and cappuccinos and was very tasty. One of our friends recommended this restaurant as he has seen the kitchen and how the food is prepared and he says they are very clean. Highly recommend!
