Favorite restaurant in Prague. We went back twice! Get the meat with gravy and dumplings with whipped cream and cranberry sauce! It sounds weird but it’s amazing. Like thanksgiving dinner! Very cool ambience too and so cheap.

A traditional Czech tavern situated next to the old town square and Paris street, the menu is well priced and the food is in big quantities compared to other places nearby. We went there twice since I arrived and once was with a local which recommended it for it’s quality and prices. The first time I ordered the goulash which was very filling with lots of sauce and the second time the chicken steak with mashed potatoes and bacon and it was delicious. The atmosphere is rustic with old equipment such as wheels, candles hanging out everywhere. There is two rooms, the second one is bigger with big wooden tables. For its great location, decent pricing and atmosphere I recommend checking this tavern out when you are around visiting or shopping.

Fazit: unser Lieblingsrestaurant in Prag! Wir waren an zwei Abenden in Folge da und würde immer wieder kommen!

Cozy place to duck into for a warm meal. Really delicious Czech specialties and also thoroughly enjoyed my beer. Waitstaff was helpful and attentive, but not overly so. Great place to avoid tourist crowds and experience real Prague just a block from tourist-central.

A very cozy, rather small restaurant that seems like a tavern from a fantasy medieval world. It is mostly lit by candles sitting on their wax thrones. There is soft medieval music playing in the background which creates a relaxing atmosphere. The menu has good variety and the prices are surprisingly good for touristy Prague. We had the roasted duck and goulash plus drinks and only paid around 20 € plus tip. The duck was delicious and huge, there was a lot of meat on it. I really liked the dumplings. Goulash was very nice, too. We’ll gladly come back anytime I’m back in Prague!

We came here because our tour guide recommended the place and gave us coupons for a free shot. Well, it is cheap I’ll give it that. I guess it depends on what you expect. If you’re a student traveling on a budget and you just need something cheap to satisfy your hunger, this is the place to go. But if you wanna try some nice Czech food, this wouldn’t be my choice. At least I hope there are better places sound here. The staff seems nice though and the location is pretty sweet, if you like the grungy cellar style.

Goulash and toasted pork with cabbage were good but very scarce. Attention was regular, people did not speak English and did not understand very well what we asked about the dishes. I recommend seating outside since the inside lack proper ventilation.

This is definitely not the place you want to go in summer, especially when its hot. We went there for lunch and we almost suffocated– no air conditioning, not even fanning. We were dripping sweat. However, the atmosphere of this little half basement restaurant is thrilling and makes you feel like you really are a part of a medieval traktir. The food tastes great and the portions are gigantic, we had to take half of our food together. And the prices are actually very democratic. So if you wanna go and try good local food-this is a place to go. Just make sure its not hot outside.

We stopped here after a walking tour of Prague. It is in good location compared to old town square and Paris street. The food came out quickly and offered an authentic Czech experience. The beer was cheap as was the food– great value for money! I would recommend for someone wanting an authentic meal for a great price.

Loved the rustic charm of this place and food so much we went back twice during visit to Prague. Recommend all of the warm starters. Make sure you get some of the Krcma sourdough bread as well.

We ate our last meal in Prague here and we wished we’d found it on the very first day! Both of our meals were to die for, and unbelievably affordable. We wanted something traditional and authentic, and this spot was perfect. The ambience in the cellar was romantic and cozy, and the location was convenient to the Old Town Square and our hotel. I would recommend this place to everyone in Prague for a delicious and authentic meal(and dining experience!)

Great typical Czech restaurant. The restaurant looks like a tavern. Meals are good and generous. Located right next to the very touristical Old Town Square, prices are really interesting(compared to what I ate in other restaurants). If i could, I would return to this place.

Original Tschechisches Essen — dazu wirklich lecker!

A very authentic Czech restaurant with amazing interior design in old Czech style. The menu is written in a sort of funny Czech language with translation into usual Czech. The dishes are very local, too. They are served fast and quite tasty. The prices are very medium considering the nearness of Parizska street. Definitely recommended to visit once just to see the place, it’s definitely worth it.

This is a very cozy restaurant close to the main square of Prague oldtown. The menu includes traditional Czech cuisine, a lot of meat dishes and a few vegetarian meals. Prices are reasonable and the meals are delicious. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. Located in a cellar it has a rustic flair with large wooden tables and candles. Especially the restrooms are nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
