Our first meal in Prague. The staff was friendly and spoke English. There was an English side to the menu, really easy. We started with grilled vegetables with grilled goat cheese and a balsamic glaze. It was fantastic. We also wanted to try the pickled Camembert. That came in a jar with onions and a pepper and was served with bread, tomato sauce and a little salad. The pickle didn’t really penetrate the cheese as much as we expected. It was good but didn’t blow me away. Finally we ordered the roast duck. This was amazing. It came in a dish with beets, sauerkraut, a roasted Apple, polenta, dumplings, bread and a sauce that tasted like it had a red wine base. The sauce was fantastic. The duck was well prepared, crispy skin and not greasy. I highly recommend this place.

Right across from the Andel metro, this is a great place to go on a nice day and sit outside. It’s full of business casual locals with a «modern Czech» menu. The biergarten area is huge and really nice. Again, not a tourist in sight, but we had no issues getting understood. Food was definitely good and service was pleasant. It took a bit of time to get our order, but I guess more time to enjoy beer, right? Good if you are in the area, I wouldn’t say to make a special trip.

Repetiria.

We saw and liked it imediately. Excelent food whith many choices of local and international receipts. Good valuable price, nice and very fast service. Maybe a little bit to fast. Never mind we enjoyed our stay and relaxed on a warm summer might in Prag. Such a good beer is the best you can have.

This is a large but friendly pub in the Andel area of Prague, 5 minutes’ walk from the Staropramen brewery, and opposite the main Andel metro exit and tram stop. The beers are Pilsner Urquell(on tap) and the dark Velkopopovicky kozel in bottles, as well as alcohol-free Radegast Birell. There’s an extensive traditional Czech menu, served until 21h. Prices are very reasonable. As well as the spacious main beer hall, there are two levels below ground incorporating more bars(not always open) and a bowling alley. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the clientele predominantly Czech, with the odd tourist.
