It´s not a bad restaurant. Enviroment is nice. I appreciate that smoking and non-smoking parts are well separated. But it´s just another restaurant among hundreds which you can find in Prague. The only special thing would be deer goulash which is delicious. They have a traditional choice of mainly czech meals. They cook well. I mean it´s not perfect but I like it. Definitely deer goulash is worth it. Beer is good too. So all and all it´s nothing special but it doesn´t dissapoint. Two stars down are for service and beer(I will explain the beer later). They are nice but slow and sometimes forget to bring something. But at least they appologize. Anyway, the beer. They have a good beer but… There is something what´s always hard to forgive and what we(czechs) don´t like. If you pour a 0,5l beer you have to really pour 0,5l beer and not less. You know, there is that line in the upper part of the glass which shows you where is the 0,5l. And if there is less, and especially much less of a beer so it´s not good. And here it was like 1 cm under the line so…

We got scammed in here. The waiter initially charged us 300 kz, we paid with a 1000 note, and he refused to give us any change. He insisted we show him the receipt, which obviously he hadn’t given us. He began to yell and threaten us after we became outraged. The remainder of the staff were unresponsive or totally ignored us. He was clearly experienced at scamming non-czech speaking tourists, since he lulled us into a false sense of security with some inane chatter before walking away with our money. Our own fault I know, but still, be extremely wary if you come here. Make sure you get the receipt before you hand over any money, and don’t get caught up in any talk from the waiter about how his sister is living in whichever country you come from. Would recommend avoiding this place altogether, since there’s plenty of nice bars around this area which won’t try to steal your money.

Came here because it was close to my hotel. Waiters who attended to me could speak English and had an English menu available. It seemed frequented by locals on the night. Portion sizes were large and well prepared. Would recommend at this price. Meal for 2 with drinks was around Kr500.

Cool little local pub located right next to the Staropramen brewery. «The Thirsty Deer» serves up standard, hearty Czech far and cold, tall pints of Staro(what did you expect?) and has been doing so since the mid 19th century. I imagine this was once(or still is) a popular place for brewery or other industrial workers in the evening or for a hearty lunch. Cheap, no frills, but friendly service and a down-home feel make this a great place off the tourist trail. Get away from it all and have a pint and bite before or after visiting the Staro tour. The deer might be thirsty, but you’ll never be.

This place has cheap beers and cheap food. Service is a little slow, but no different than any other Czech restaurant. The bartenders don’t speak English and they are not very attentive. The pours on the beer are also not that great. They pour beer with a lot of foam and serve it-but it’s cheap.
