The food is okay, I had traditional pork shoulder, dumplings and sauerkraut. The thing you go here for is that a TRAINDELIVERSYOURBEER. How can you not be excited by the juxtaposition of Thomas the Tank Engine delivering your beer. Disclaimer, only some of the tables have beer delivery service, mostly ones for groups so you’ll have to find a friend to enjoy this with. You’ll also need a reservation, regardless if it is crowded or not. This is apparently very common in the Czech Republic but not if you’re an American. It is located on near the top half of Wenceslas Square, which also means there are also many street hookers and pimps through out the day. To get here take Mustek A or Muzeum but be careful because both are touristy and attract the attention of the metro police who have a reputation of fining tourists for being tourists. Be polite, don’t pay, show but do not handover your passport, and ask repeatedly to talk to the US Embassy.

This restaurant is all about the show. It’s entertaining to have your drinks arrive on the little trains, this is true. I had much better and more reasonably priced food at pubs than I had here. The potatoes were very bland, and the chicken was oily. My daughter did quite enjoy the show and her ice cream. The beer was cold and delicious!

I don’t know if there are other restaurants like this one but it was my first time to have my beer delivered by a train: D Prices are not very low but also not extremely high. Beer price is low in my opinion(but of course in Prague beer was almost always cheap) especially for a location in a city centre. I didn’t eat anything but I saw other people orders and they were not small. But of course the most important thing is mentioned trains. In the whole restaurant there are toy trains which deliver you drinks. It was awesome: D

On the plus side — great location, right in the center, and your beer is brought to you ON A MODELTRAIN! I mean, how fun is that? Plus the food can be quite good(I especially like the beef tartar.) But, yeah, the service sucks — they hate being there, they hate you for being there, and they really hate big groups. Plus, the open kitchen plays the radio, partly tuned to a station, at very high volume, which adds to the chaos of the place. Plus, there are often a lot of kids(you know — trains!) who can be noisy. The best is to come here as a group of four or less, in the middle of the afternoon during the week, and have a snack or lunch and a couple of pints of Krušovice on tap(a rarity these days). It’s a fun place, and very unique — you just have to be able to handle the noise and the crappy attitudes.

I have been in this restaurant twice. The point is that people like the concept of this restaurant: drinka are served with little trains on rails directly to your table. And yes, to be honnest, it is fun. But the staff is really not attentive, efficient nor nice. The food is quite expensive regarding the quality, but since the restaurant is on wenceslas square it is quite normal. Cocktails are ok. Some improvements should be done in my opinions on those points to make this place somewhere you want to go back again with pleasure.

Overrated to be honest. You’re basically paying to have your drink come to you in train tracks that tend to malfunction a lot of the time. The«traditional» food is all american. Also I didn’t know you paid tip in this country and the waitress called me out on it. Food is mediocre and service was pretty rude.

Very simple food and absolutely not why you should go here — go here because of experiencing getting drinks serves on a train to your table. Kids loved it.

If you are in Prague, and you don’t go to Restaurance Vytopna, you are doing yourself a disservice. Word to the wise, make a reservation if you want to guarantee yourself a seat. We didn’t, and still got in, but just barely. Everyone was spoken ad nauseum about the trains, so I’ll forgo that part(they are awesome). The food was one of the highlights of our whole Prague trip. I ordered the spicy goulash, my wife ordered Chicken flautas, and we ordered vegetables and grilled chicken for the kids. The kids meals… the veggies were the freshest I’ve seen in a restaurant and the chicken was very tender and moist. Very fresh. I took a bite of my wife’s chicken flautas, which were also very good. However, the star of the night was the spicy goulash. Very heavy, slightly spicy, and very satisfying. It wasn’t overly spicy, and there were a lot of flavors that came through, but it had just enough kick to make me take notice. This restaurant will likely be a fixture for our future Prague trips. The kids liked the food and the trains, I enjoyed the food, beer(and the trains), and my wife enjoyed everything. 5 stars!

The little trains network is just amazing… No words to describe it, got 3 beers last night and they all came with a different model. I felt like a little kid in the best lunaparks. Huge variety of foods and all of them are very well cooked and don’t make you feel heavy after, so very much enjoyable. A bit strange not to find the over famous Pilsner there, but not a problem at all because Krušovice is definitely still a great beer. Only tiny problem was that the wifi, although working, was not connected to the Internet. Probably a temporary problem, though.
