We stopped in for lunch right before they were closing for the afternoon and the server asked us to please order quickly as they value their break… no problem at all… he was very kind and respectful about it. The artichoke salad was a little bitter, but I liked it while my boyfriend did not. Different tastes, I guess. We had some bread and the filet rigatoni and duck fagliatelle, both SOGOOD! Some of the freshest pasta I’ve ever had and perfectly cooked. Very cute place, great service, great food. Stop in if you can!

Today it has been the first time at Pagana after I read so much about the restaurant. To find the restaurant is quite an adventure if you walk there and you never have been in this area. Thanks to Unilocal navigation all went well. Going down the stairs, knew it’s in underground and stepped down. I was surprised … No muddy smell like typical for a lot of places in Prague when they’re undergo und. Not at all! All is very clean, dry and nice decorated. The waiter was very polite and device overall good. The menu card is small but not too small staring with Italian appetizers, versions of pasta, meat and fish. Also the wine list is not too big and you will find some wine quick. The food was good I would say. Not excellent but very good /good. The scallopina al limone could get more lemon and the potato more salt. The polpo alla grilla was a big arm and the sauce matching the taste of the octopus. The mouse was tasting to heavily and something more light and fresh would underline the grilled taste better. The wine Gavi di Gavi was very tasty and matched the meals. We had no dessert. But the offers looked interesting. Madam Pagana, the boss and owner, is a very nice person with great sense of humor. She speaks Czech, German, English and Italian as the waiter. Finally we have been the last guest together with the waiter and went home with big smile.

This place is like a hidden gem in the Middle of Prague. I think it’s a pitty that many locals are not aware of it and it’s usually the foreigners who can appreciate its exceptionality. When I came here for the first time many years ago, I couldn’t believe how it’s possible that such an amazing restaurant is not that well known in the Czech foodie world and today it’s more or less the same… with a small difference — the real Czech foodies already know about it and love it! I can highly recommend!

The best service I’ve ever received in a restaurant. The staff is so friendly I wanted to eat there everyday! It’s a bit hidden on the street underground in a building. It’s a family owned restaurant and we were welcomed by Santiago, the owner’s son. He was extremely friendly and explained us the whole menu. I was with a friend who had some allergies and Santiago was prompt to take notes, talk with the chef and give suggestions on replacing some features of the dish so nothing would harm him. The New Year menu(I post a pic of it here) consisted of: A marinated salmon as amuse-bouche; tuna tartare, truffle risotto, a lemon sorbet, veal or fish and 1000 leaves with mascarpone and raspberries as dessert. All that with an outstanding wine pairing made by Santiago himself. The whole meal was a taste of paradise. Breath-taking food, delicious wines and warm family-like service. Before the actually dining room there’s a little hall where smoking is allowed. After 22h cigars are also allowed there. If you are a non-smoker don’t worry, as a non-smoker myself I wasn’t at all bothered by that, there were very few people smoking(maybe 2 at a time). I can say that it was the best dining experience I’ve ever had. I recommend this place to everyone!

This restaurant is a pleasant delight. The restaurant was fully booked but fortunately we were really early. They accommodated us. The food was brilliant. The choice of wine and the knowledge he had about wine was great. The family has done a great job giving an ‘experience’ to the customers.

For our last night in Prague we chose Ristorante Pagana after seeing so many excellent reviews. I can honestly say we had a great meal at Pagana and it felt like being in one’s house, not a restaurant. We waited about 10 minutes for our table but the owners son(Santiago) came out and treated us with glasses of prosecco, a very nice gesture. We sat down to what turned out to be a feast of Italian food. We started with splitting a mixed greens salad, lightly dressed and tasty. We then split a special pasta of tagliatelle with sausage and broccoli which was yum and a very big portion. We both decided on the same entrée, the Saltimbocca Romana. The veal, prosciutto, sage etc prepared perfectly and was melt in the mouth delicious. With the different courses, we had white and red wine from Italy which paired very well with the variety of food. Service all evening, by the entire staff was incredible. You eat here and you feel like part of the family. Great sense of humor also. We were too full for any dessert, instead we sipped our wine in that relaxing atmosphere. Pagana is very convenient to the metro stop Narodni Trida. It is literally next door to the Metro stop. Looking for an excellent Italian meal in Prague, go to Ristorante Pagana!

The best! Our family of three, while we waited for our table, owner’s son(waiter), gave us complimentary wine and house bread. The wait was a bit longer so he poured us another(small) glass. Food was e excellent! Best value and quality we’ve had on our Eastern Europe trip so far.

The best restaurant we went in Prague! A small, cozy place a bit away from the city center but still walking distance. If you take the metro it is one block from the B line. They make you feel very welcomed. Make sure you ask for what is not in the menu like the spaghetti parmigiana made in front of you.

There is a reason why this family-owned Italian restaurant is #1 among all restaurants in Prague on TripAdvisor! It simply is amazing — food and service. The house specialty of spaghetti cooked in white whine sauce table side and then tossed inside the cheese block of Parmesan and Regiano is to die for.
