We stopped here on a sunny day in Istanbul. The restaurant faces the water and on weekends the area hosts a street market, which has some excellent finds from hand-crafted jewelry to old posters. Their service is pretty good, it was a busy day when we went but were seated promptly and cared for well. They are also well equipped to handle tourists as every menu item has a picture of the food against it. On the table were a host of starters, all of which were yummy and for mains we had a mix of fish dishes, such as the baked sea bass in a pot, steamed sea bass with sauce, grilled and fried calamari, mixed seafood ‘pot’ — all excellent. Their seafood is of top quality and the sauces, mine had tomatoes, are among the freshest any of us have had. I almost compared their tomatoes to the Italian fare to which I got some harsh glares from my Italian hubby, but he quietly agreed with me later. The only drawback for me was they don’t serve any lavash(the big puffy balloon bread).
