OH MY GOD. I wish I had known about this excellent place earlier. If you are EVER in the Salacak area do not miss this awesome place. Not only does the guy make the best kofte I’ve had in Istanbul, but he’s also an ex-​champion boxer who snagged the Balkan Championship once. He’s amazing. The walls are covered with grease-​stained photos of everyone who’s been to this place, including a few famous faces and groups of local police. I mean, it’s simply a staple. They serve piyaz with the kofte, which you absolutely must try. And the owner always say «Tak!» at the end of every sentence, for some unknown reason. Everyone’s doing it. You should too.
Definitely try this place out before it gets discovered!
