Delicious and as authentic as it gets! Love the General Tso’s chicken extra spicy.

My favorite Chinese establishment in Northeast Ohio! Fantastic fresh veggies from local gardens and handcrafted dishes. If you like variety and curry get the Singapore Noodles dish. A can’t miss.

Just bad! We’re not sure if it was an off night for them, because they came highly recommended; but, but our food was terrible. I was really surprised how quick the food was ready(15 min). Everything looked very appetising. But the shrimp and chicken were chewy and tasteless. The vegetable egg roll was awful tasting, like old cabbage. The crab Rangoon was hard and chewy and just tasted like cream cheese. Vegetable lo mien and rice tasted old and little flavor. Everything really was chewy and tasted old. Really disappointed. We actually the it away. We should have heeded the warning hand scribbled on the door, the said«No Food Returns if you don’t like it stock with what you know.» Just bad, we will not be returning ever. And it was kinda pricey in to of it all.

It is by far the best Chinese in Akron! I have never had anything sub par on the menu, I get chins a few times a month, always great quality and service

The fried rice has a lot of flavor and the General Tso’s is different than any I’ve ever tasted. My kids also live the chicken Lo Mein. The staff is very friendly.

I have to say the reason why I ordered here in the first place is because of all the Unilocalers giving 5 stars and good rating. I must say I was highly fooled. My husband and I ordered… House lo mien, which tasted not too bad. Peppered steak, that was way to watery and almost pork white colored and steamed dumplings that was way, way too thick. Our order cost us $ 36 with tip. It’s took them 1 hour to deliver to us… The only reason why I gave them a 2 star rating was because the lo mien was edible. Unilocalers don’t be fooled the food is not all that great.

Chin’s is fabulous, and this is coming from someone who is fairly well versed in AUTHENTIC Chinese food. While it has some of the usual suspects in takeout, it also has a lot of uncommon specialties(Szechuan I believe) and the quality is excellent on everything. Their soups use an authentic, light broth, not the awful salty stuff one often finds at other restaurants, and they also include the unusual sizzling rice soups, which I love. The egg-drop soup is probably the best I’ve ever had around in Ohio; the flavouring is perfectly balanced. My favourite dish here is the orange beef, which is FAR closer to the authentic«old skin beef» than I’ve eaten anywhere else in Ohio, but everything else is good too. The key is to follow the recommendations of the staff; they’ve never led me wrong. Comparing regional cuisines is like apples and oranges, I know, but I find this Chin’s Place to be as good Szechuan as the Downtown Cleveland restaurants are good and authentic Cantonese.

Wonderful service and food! You can tell the wontons and sauces are prepared in house. The beef lo mien was tender and delicious. The House special soup was very good and presentation in the bowl was a notch above most Chinese places. Cantonese appears to be their speciality. Service was very nice. I will be back!

Delicious! Wasn’t sure where to look for a new favorite place but saw there were lots of great reviews. It didn’t disappoint! Although it is a little bit of a drive, it is most definitely going to be our new place. Hooray for a new favorite place :)

This place is amazing. The service is excellent. I would recommend the roast pork lo mien. It is one of my ultimate favorites. I live on the other side of town and this will always be my go to Chinese place. It is totally worth the drive!

I am new to the area, and have been looking for some decent Chinese carry out. Have not been satisfied until I tried Chin’s place. Their dishes have great flavor and fresh veggies that are not overlooked. Their staff is very friendly and competent. Chin’s Place is simply fantastic!

Best Chinese food I’ve had in Akron hands down. Very high quality, sauce is made in house from my understanding(not from a bottle). The Mongolian beef and sesame chicken are my favourite… yeah those aren’t the most«authentic» dishes they serve, but still taste awesome.

This place is amazing! I had the general tso’s chicken and it was delicious with crisp vegetables. My wife had beef lo neon and ate so much she was full, a rare occurrence. Strongly recommend that you try this place.

I went here while visiting friends in Akron. I got the Singapore Noodle dish and it was absolutely amazing. Nice level of spice, a lot of meat and fresh vegetables. I look forward to going back here again. The only thing I regret is that I left my leftovers in my friend’s refrigerator.

The best!!! Our favorite Chinese food ever! Dining in is fun; take out is fast and consistently excellent. While I was pregnant with food restrictions, Elaine made me a special dish from her childhood. Now we bring our son and he is always welcome and accommodated. The Garlic Green Beans are phenomenal and my hubs loves their Sesame Chicken. Our family loves this place!

Some stuff is Americanized, as expected, but a lot of the dishes are also authentic in soul and nature. My FAVORITE place to get Chinese food in Akron. No MSG, not heat lamps, and no compromise on quality. The dumplings here are massive hugs for your tongue and tummy. Probably my favorite thing on the menu. The spiced sauce to dip or pour is also delectable. The noodles here are wonderful. Fat, chewy noodles with a huge selection of either beef or shrimp or veggies and more! My friend also got the orange chicken. She stopped eating beef(which they also offer orange beef) and was ECSTATIC to see not only the orange chicken on the menu, but also that it was delicious. Aromatic, citrusy, spicy. It’s not my favorite, but even I liked it. The people there are awesome and are so casual and friendly. They’re open late and will deliver, though the won’t deliver to the University anymore. I still find it worth the trip! Not even a 10 minute ride. Chin’s Place is just happiness. :3

It was 9:30 P.M. on a Wednesday. That gave me two choices Subway(the McDonald’s for Vegans) or another place that is open past 9 P.M. Thankfully for Help From Unilocal(HFL) we located an Asian restaurant not to far off our path. We were returning home after a visit to a potential foster to adopt(we run a Non-profit Animal companion Rescue Storm’s Angels). Sadly the only place near our fosters home was a pizza place that contained dairy. It was in the dough. Dairy was even in the pizza sauce. One other bar was a type I had never been to. At first when parking my son said it looked like it had a skating rink inside. When I went in to ask for a menu I was shocked. There was a «rink» but it was more like a corral for humans to work on their line-dancing(uh). We went on our way. Using HFY to find food on our trip home we settled on Chin’s Place. Unilocal had their webpage. Chin’s Webpage had a menu. On the cover page was a green stamp stating many selections of Vegan and Vegetarian items. A worker there had friends who were Vegan. She stated that we could order just about anything to be Vegan. That they would work with us. That was most excellent. We ordered 3 orders of fries, 2 sesame Tofu, and 4 General Tso’s. The General Tso’s was okay, the Sesame Tofu was my favorite. I will order that next time. The whole ordering process and having our food was about twenty minutes. Thank you. –Omeed

This was absolutely the WORSTCHINESEFOOD I have ever had in my entire life! Terrible, terrible, terrible!!! I’m Asian and LOVE Chinese food, but I’ve never had Chinese food that tastes sooooo bad like theirs before. My husband and I ordered steamed dumplings, hot-and-sour soup, and two meat entrees. The dumpling’s starch skin was way toooooooo thick(more than you can imagine) to taste its filling. When I took a bite, all I could taste was the thick skin. I couldn’t believe I paid $ 5 for the starch skin. Hot and sour soup had blackish color and tasted real bad. It was an absolute horror. My husband and I will never go back there!

2013 Update Spicy Beef Egg Rolls — OMG… not to be missed! We go at least once a month… sometimes with a restaurant dot com discount and other times full price. Still love the fresh veggies and love that they are already getting the garden ready for another year. Love the cashew chicken… orange beef is really crispy and spicy… fried dumplings are a comfort food favorite. There are take out specials listed by the door and a pretty steady line of walk in folks ordering take out. If you love veggies… and a great wait staff… it’s still a great place to have lunch or dinner.
