I’ve celebrated weddings, funerals, birthdays, and holidays here. No matter what the occassion, the staff and owners are professional and accommodating. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu since coming here in 2012 and I’ve NEVER been disappointed. It’s fine dining without the ridiculous prices.

Great Food and reasonably priced! Waitstaff is friendly, helpful, and on top of their game! The owners are friendly and great all around people. Don’t listen to the nitpickers at the bottom of the page! Some people live to complain and nothing is ever good enough! «Gold Coast Grill» a hidden gem! –Sebastian

It’s not often that I encounter food so bad, I can’t look the waiter in the eye afterward. This was that. Here’s how it went down… We started off with the tiger prawns appetizer. It was breaded, deepfried prawns with marinara sauce and tartar sauce– nothing special. The prawns were definitely over-cooked and a bit rubbery, the tartar was very salty, the two lemon slices reminded me of lunch at Sea World. The whole thing had a sort of uninspired vibe to it. We should have cut and run at this point. Then we got the main course. I ordered the eggplant parmigiano, my partner had the shrimp scampi. The eggplant was fine but completely boring– properly cooked, breaded and fried, with marinara and cheese. The cheese was mozzarella, the marinara was whatever comes in a jar– no chunks, no flavor, really just tomato sauce. The sides were plain steamed broccoli and carrot slivers, and 3 chunks of over-roasted oven potatoes. Not what I would have ordered, but there was no choice. Still, if you have bad teeth and need to watch your sodium, I guess it wasn’t horrible. Kinda boring for a healthy person under 70, though, and a bit expensive for anyone. The scampi was… something else. It was half a dozen shrimp over some sort of oily rice dish. The shrimp were cooked completely to death, and had a fishy taste to them. Not sure if they were over cooked because they were going off, or if the kitchen is blind. The rice thing was bland, a bit sour, and had puddles of grease running off it. The«greek salsa» on top, which the waiter described mostly in terms of various olives, tasted like someone had run some canned black olives and a cheap tomato through a blender. A little sour, mostly tasteless, mushy and soggy. The whole plate was just repulsive. The entire experience was humiliating. My partner left still hungry because her dish was completely inedible. I ate the eggplant, but barely touched the sides. We got out of there as quickly as possible. Two glasses of wine(one decent, one decidedly vinegary), an appetizer and two entrees: $ 75. For that price I’ll go anywhere else in the Bay Area, skip the second fork, and get some food I can choke down.

The Gold Coast has an amazing dinner menu, consistently great every time. I usually get the steak or chicken piccata with a salad and its always prepared just right. I saw their sign for brunch on the so my gf and decided to check it out. We really enjoyed it, the chicken and waffles were amazing and the pancakes were almost as good as my mom used to make them! We’ll be back.

This place is horrible! They’re rude to their staff and employees! Also it’s very overpriced for what you get. I wouldn’t return here. Boo!

was looking for something new in Alameda and this popped up. Went on a Tuesday night at 7 pm and about 75% occupancy. Noise level was low which was perfect for our 4 top and we could hear each other. Apparently a family business and they are friendly. Obvious that others were regulars and acknowledged as such. Service/food were good. Nothing outstanding, but certainly nothing to complain about. We all said we would come back again

Meh. The food is OK. We ordered the specials. they weren’t very special. My filet was cooked to perfection; however, the cut was not really up to par. My wife’s sol and risotto was decent, but nothing exciting. On the other hand I was very impressed by the service — professional wait staff who are very skilled at what they do. People do really like this place, as I had the impression many of the other diners had been coming here for a long time. The food may just a bit too old school for me.

I loved the fried shrimp and the appetizer sampler. The staff here is wonderful, they are a family style restaurant and they have the best service!!!

Godd steak. Dark Ambience. Came in on a random chance, we were down the street and craving steak. Not the best cuts of steak ever, but cooked just the way we wanted!

I heard good things about this restaurant and decided to check it out. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to eat their food. I stood with my group inside the entry way waiting to be acknowledged by an employee, but that never happened. The bartender looked at us and said nothing. Several of the waiters looked our direction but never greeted us or said anything at all. We gave it a few minutes but ultimately we decided to leave. I certainly do not want to spend my hard earned money at a restaurant where I felt unappreciated. I will probably not return. There are plenty of other good restaurants in town.

I have no idea how this place stays in business. Horrible food! Salad was sad. Ordered the moussaka — heated in the microwave? It was hot in the center and lukewarm on the outside, uneven temperature in between. Will never go back.

When I glanced in the window on our way in, I thought, this place is gonna be too expensive, but it wasn’t! Although totally boring looking on the outside, you could drive right past it a hundred times and never think anything as nice as it is was inside. We had our rehearsal dinner here. Party of about 35 people. They have a private room that was perfect size. And on Friday nights, live piano. Anyway, we just walked in late one weekday evening unannounced and got to meet with Stelios(one of the owners). We sat with him for a good half hour or so and had a great conversation so we gave him a deposit before we left and felt really good about our decision. The one irritating part of our whole experience was that when we left, I asked him to email me an invoice, which he did, and it included a cost for 4 small children(under 5yrs) which he had told us he wouldn’t charge us for them. When my partner called to question it, he acted totally surprised and said they always charge for children and told us he never said such a thing. So I was mad, but shit, he got my deposit already, let’s just make the best of it. Hmph. Coordinating dinner was easy, we called a few days prior to tell him how many chicken, fish, steak dishes, etc. and that was it. Then we showed up and dinner was served. Stelios was also our server. We had an extra guest and he seemed a bit irritated by that unplanned fact, but how hard is it to make an extra steak com’n! Alright, in the end, he didn’t charge us for the children and the food was overall decent. The salmon was good, steak I’ve had better, and chicken was moist but a bit bland for my taste. The greek dessert thing, though, is HELLAGOOD. I’d like to give them 3 ½ stars, but that greek dessert is really worth half a star. Lol. Plus I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, I honestly think maybe his memory’s slippin’ cuz he’s getting up there in years… and our first impression was great, so I’d be open to trying them out for a date night in the near future.

Gold Coast Grill is so unassuming. I have driven past it quite possibly a thousand times, chalking it up to being some form of bar and burger joint. Then my friends asked me to join them here, which to my delight turns out to be a delicious, and might I add, attractive restaurant complete with waitstaff and old ladies eating. Everything was surprisingly good and vegetarian, this was while my friend was on his vegetarian stint. Everything we had tasted fresh, well-made and new(in a good way) to the tastebuds. They were also highly equipped to take things such as anniversary dinners and birthday dinners easily. I recommend taking your SO now!

The food was amazing! Very tasty! A mix of Italian and Greek. Delicious. The maitre d slash waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. We had the greek sampler as an app. Fantastic. I had seafood for my main and it was also delicious. Food was fresh. Flavors were great. Loved it and will be back again.

Flexed my old person muscle on a Friday night after 20+ years of resisting going in this place. It looks sketchy because it has Escalade-style tinted windows. Super comfy corner booth, live piano music, beautiful space, fresh flowers!, incredibly attentive service, an almost obnoxiously filled water glass, top-notch food. The prices are high, but this is a high price restaurant from the get-go, and the portions are bigger than you would expect from a place so crazily refined. The octopus, oh the grilled octopus! It was a special, and I hope it’s a special for you too. Lamb ribs, oh the lamb ribs! I couldn’t fault it, even the bathroom, and I didn’t mind being the youngest person by 25 years — it made me feel sophisticated.

Cute little bistro and bar place in alameda. Ive been going to alameda ALL my life ! however i never noticed this bar until my friend told me about it and took me and my boyfriend there for drinks. He bartended here too i think. but anyhow, the Bartender there was nice. funny. and very sarcastic in a lovely and humoring way. too bad i dont remember his name. I wished they had draft beers though :(only bottled. but other than that downfall, everyone there was nice. even the people who were at the bar with us. most Alameda people are very kind: D

Wow what a nice find! While it looks nondescript, the food and service is outstanding. On valentines day we started with Saganaki. It was quite good. They brought it out and lit it on the table. It was a nice size and had good flavor. We shared the soup of the day which was potato and leek. OMG I would go back just for that soup. A bowl was good size and the flavor was totally surprising with bits of leek in the soup and small bits of potato. It had a nice amount of cream. My wife had the petrale sole which was awesome. Very tender/fresh and lightly. served with veggies and rice. I had the calamari which was very fresh with a nice batter. it could have been just a tad more crisp. My wife had a margarita that she said was the best she’s ever had. This is saying a lot because she is really picky about her margaritas. Net time I’m having the lamb or the moussaka or one of the other fabulous looking entrees.

Gold Coast Grill offers mediterrean food of the greek variety. ambience is cozy. eatery design resembles a reconfigured house. open evenings only. no happy hour. eats: –comped bread –just average . –lamb riblet(9): subtle flavors, little meat and/or fat on bone, on the dry side, not a lot of juice 3 ish stars pours: gin & tonic(5.5) –very strong pour bloody mary(7) –strong pour also, mix from bottle but added spices made drink very tasty. leftovers: –live piano music. –food average, drinks excel, friendly ambience/service –lamb shank, prime rib, chicken picatta, veal medallion were recommended by bartender kerry. may consider.

First thing — you can tell the amount of pride that goes into providing people with a good quality of service at this restaurant. The servers are quick and enthusiastic even when the room was empty. We enjoyed a good meal at an early time so I can’t complain about the lack of customer base inside. I’m sure that based on the previous reviews this place can get poppin’. The food was good. Not amazing, but FARFROM horrible. We started off with a great spanakopita that was flaky as can be and cooked to perfection. The cocktails were decent and helped to wash down the heavy Greek flavors, cleansing our palates for the next round. The sauteed chicken piccata and penne pollo were excellent dishes. Great flavor and hearty portions kept us shoveling away eventually reaching empty plates. I would recommend this restaurant for a nice casual meal when you’re craving some decent Mediterranean cuisine. It’s a relatively cheap meal and your service will be unmatched.
